1. We elected a president who sees government employ superior to private employment and entrepreneurship. Early on, this is what he said:

"The Obama Administration will call on Americans to serve in order to meet the nation’s challenges. President-Elect Obama will expand national service programs like AmeriCorps and Peace Corps and will create a new Classroom Corps to help teachers in underserved schools, as well as a new Health Corps, Clean Energy Corps, and Veterans Corps. Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year. How do you like the word I bolded?

2. Both Obamas have preached the superiority of public service over self-employment or success in the private sector. During the 2008 campaign, at a women's forum, Michelle Obama instructed her audience:

We left corporate America, which is a lot of what we're asking young people to do[.] ... Don't go into corporate America. You know, become teachers. Work for the community. Be social workers. Be a nurse. Those are the careers that we need, and we're encouraging our young people to do that. But if you make that choice, as we did, to move out of the money-making industry into the helping industry, then your salaries respond. [Emphasis added.]

3. Which brings us to the reality of Obama-America:

If you want to understand better why so many states—from New York to Wisconsin to California—are teetering on the brink of bankruptcy, consider this depressing statistic: Today in America there are nearly twice as many people working for the government (22.5 million) than in all of manufacturing (11.5 million). This is an almost exact reversal of the situation in 1960, when there were 15 million workers in manufacturing and 8.7 million collecting a paycheck from the government.

4. So, even though the 'rich' pay the largest portion of the taxes in this nation...there are economic-imbeciles who hate them, and want to encourage everyone to work for the government.

a. Incentivize public empoyment???
“An apples-to-apples comparison shows that the federal pay system gives many federal workers significantly more compensation than they would get in the private sector. The total premium costs taxpayers $40 billion (according to Richwine and Biggs) or $47 billion (Sherk) per year above market rates.” Federal Pay Still Inflated After Accounting for Skills | The Heritage Foundation

b. In addition to the lack of fairness, consider the effect on society if we incentivize government work as opposed to private work, and business creation…and the effect on innovation and productivity.

So, what do you think, was putting folks with this outlook in charge of the economy, good idea or bad idea?
