Twas the night before Christmas and all through the House,
Not a Republican was stirring, not even to grouse.
The wish list withdrawn with a Bohner lip quiver,
It’s clear to him now that St. Nick won’t deliver.

The GOP children have lost all their cred.
But visions of goose-stepping still dance in their head.
Unable to close their reality gap,
They took all their marbles and left for a nap.

When out on the South Lawn there arose such a clatter.
They’re laughing so hard they might lose their bladder.
Away to Fox News I flew like a flash.
Who in the world will THEY blame for the crash?

The GOP bolted ahead of the snow.
They just couldn’t get their ducks in a row?
When what to my wondering eyes should I see?
But a loony spin job from Sean Hannity.

He laid it all on Obama so lively and quick,
I knew in an instant, he’s one psycho prick.
More rapid than eagles his rationalizations they came,
So desperate he was to spare the far right from blame.

Now Cantor, now Bohner, now Price and McCarthy,
On Hensarling, on Rogers, on McKeon and Ryan.
To the top of the wall, to the edge of the cliff,
“Our way or Hell” we can’t tell the diff?

They spoke plenty of words but lifted not a finger in works,
“To hell with them all, if the rich can’t get perks.
We’ll just pretend American sees like we see,
We’ll lipstick that pig and call it Plan B.”

They sprang to their Hummers like firemen on call.
And away they all flew as their approvals all fall.
But I heard them exclaim ‘ere they bailed just like rats,
We don’t have answers; we’re all just spoiled brats
