The NFL makes yet another stunningly stupid decision

The Dallas Cowboys have been wearing a patch on their uniforms all through preseason honoring the Dallas police officers killed by that psychotic son of a bitch in July. The NFL has now told the team they will not be 'allowed' to wear the patch during the regular season.

A fish really does rot from the head down.

Yeah, I am not happy with the NFL over this and might not watch nor go to any NFL games for awhile. Fans that find this to be outrageous should protest by withholding dollars and not going to games...

There are sadly MANY tragedies that happen. The NFL owns the space on uniforms just like as if they owned a bill board. Are you going to whine if the bill board owners won't turn their space over to your cause?

IIRC, "NFL Enterprises L.P., is a limited partnership constituted under the laws of the State of Delaware. It is a separate and distinct entity from the National Football League which is an unincorporated, not for profit association, constituted under the laws of the State of New York. The NFL is a joint enterprise of thirty member clubs distributed throughout the United States which are engaged in the business of exhibiting football games."

As such the owners make up the rules and they do not want your cause plastered on their uniforms they just want to play football and make tons of money in that and related activities.

A lot of people have very compelling causes they feel very strongly about. They are offended when others don't find compassion towards their cause. Then others chime in supporting the cause denigrating those that can't see to supporting the cause. How terrible these non subscribers must be!

Most people have a tragedy to bear and live with. They endure their discomfort quietly in private. They are really at the end of their rope with some kind of grief. This could be anything from a death or serious medical situation that is probably costing them a fortune. There could likely be a close relative dealing with some addictive behavior.

Self righteous people who point accusing fingers assigning guilt towards those who can't find the time or room for compassion make me a little sick.

Of course most people are generous by nature. Unfortunately most people are already emotionally and monetarily tapped out with the wherewithal to extend an emotional helping hand and resent the guilt trip laid at their feet for not being able to participate in your tragedy.
