The New Marriage

This whole conversation illustrates the whole problem with the liberal line of thinking. Everything is open to interpretation and nothing should be taken literally or written in stone. Its really reached its peak now that the bible itself is in question.

Well, if the Bible is the absolute and inerrant Word of God, why are there so many schisms and sects of Christianity (We'll leave Judaism and Islam out of the conversation for now)?

Nobody sees the same thing in the same way. Thus everybody takes something different away from the Bible. Some take their own direction and start their own version of Christianity...Their one true path to salvation. And then someone up and tells them that they're full of crap, and his path is the one true path to salvation. And then you've got a holy war on your hands. If the Bible was absolutely true in all places and all times, things like that wouldn't happen, we'd all be Christian, and there would be no question about it. But there is no "one true path". To claim that the general garment of any religion is a perfect fit for all is an act of hubris...and arrogance. To hold that one's version of his or her chosen faith is the salvation for all is to fall into the trap of ego.

Whether you like it or not, the Bible, the Torah, the Koran...all are open to interpretation because they are the products of human cognition.

Is it possible for the human minds to have been inspired by god?

The many sects and interpretation you mention are human failings, not failings of god.
