The ‘New Gestapo’?

Obama Hellcare is an act of aggression against Americans: Buy insurance (to state-dictated specifications) or some of your money will be taken from you, by force—even lethal force—if necessary.

.

Who's going to fight to the death over some debt?

you can get arrested if the government can't get the money from you any other way, after it's gone WAY up

Wrong on both counts.

So what happens when you can't pay?

Presumably the same thing that happens when you can't pay your income taxes. You get fined, harrassed, your wages are garnished, a lien is slapped on your property or, in the worst case scenario, you go to prison. Why else would the plan include hiring thousands of new IRS agents to enforce the law?

But it is definitely going to be a problem. Thomas Sowell summed it up about as succinctly as it can be put:

They can keep any 'penalty' you may owe from any refund you might get but that's about it. They won't garish your wages, won't come a knockin' on your door, won't put you in jail. They also won't be collecting the $54B over 8 years (according to the congressional Joint Committee on Taxation) that they figured into helping reduce the cost of things.

Obamacare: Tax Or Penalty? Call It What You Want, But IRS Won't Be Able To Collect It - Forbes

From the bill:

(A) Waiver of criminal penalties

In the case of any failure by a taxpayer to
timely pay any penalty imposed by this section, such taxpayer shall not be subject to
any criminal prosecution or penalty with respect to such failure.

(B) Limitations on liens and levies

The Secretary shall not—
(i) file notice of lien with respect to any
property of a taxpayer by reason of any
failure to pay the penalty imposed by this
section, or
(ii) levy on any such property with respect to such failure.

Wrong on both counts.

Nope, not according to what's in the bill.

Socialist/Progressive Nanny/Police Staters have a lot planned for the American People. Regulating how much Soda you drink is only the beginning. Big Brother now owns your body. You aint seen nothin yet.

So it is now essentially unenforcible? But they can require the person who doesn't have insurance to get it when they go to the doctor or emergency room or hospital? And does the restriction on individual penalities also apply to businesses? None of the small business people I know think it is unenforcible where they are concerned. And now that SCOTUS has declared the mandate to be a TAX, that gives an awful lot of leeway to assess any amount of penalties they wish.

Regardless Thomas Sowell is right. If we ALL are going to be forced to pay for this legislation in one way or another, the idea is absurd that the government, that swallows up substantial percentages of ALL revenues received into its giant bureaucracy, will somehow do it more economically than can the private sector.

The "Waiver of Criminal Penalties" is nonsense.

Any one familiar with our jurisprudence will find out that in 10-15 years the waiver will be ignored by the continuing criminal enterprise known as the federal judiciary.

Once Big Brother owns and controls your body, he owns and controls everything. Many many American Citizens have no idea what they're celebrating. They've lost their Freedom & Liberty.

Don't disagree with anything you posted, just providing information. The more accurate info that's out there the better informed we all are. Pass the word about the tax not being enforceable ... at least for now.

Not going to disagree with this.
