There is simply no denying that "The New Deal" was the ultimate raw deal for the American people. It destroyed the U.S. Constitution and consolidated power into the hands of one person inside the Executive Branch. It was a return to the monarchy from which we fought to escape. Listen to the words of the man behind the raw deal - and note his recurring theme: control. It is chilling more than 70 years later to realize how all of this has come to fruition...

The new deal saved America, the alternative was a country where the rich lived behind walls with armed guards and everyone else wanting to string them up. Capitalism was dead as Elvis as money simply quit flowing through the economy. The WPA/TVA/REA gave the rural working man the first real paycheck he had ever seen and finally freed them from subsistence agriculture. Now here we are with every rural county served by electricity, roads, flood control, sanitation and the conservative dickheads there badmouthing the new deal. It's like badmouthing truckers with your mouth full.

No matter how many times you repeat liberal propaganda - it doesn't make it true. The raw deal has destroyed America. We're $19 trillion in debt and it started with the raw deal. We have record number of people on food stamps - and it started with the raw deal. We have record number of people who have dropped out of the work force - and it started with the raw deal.

Furthermore - even if your liberal propaganda lies were true - it doesn't even matter. The entire concept of the United States was liberty - not about "prosperity". If people like you couldn't figure out how to survive and thrive under liberty, oh well. It didn't justify violating the law and pissing all over the U.S. Constitution.

The government owns LESS than it used to.
Any other lies you want to attempt?

President Obama made history last year in a massive, 260 million acre expansion of national public lands and waters, more than any previous president in history, including Teddy Roosevelt. Apparently, the president wasn’t satisfied with that milestone. He now has his sights on an additional two million acres in Utah where the federal government already controls 66.5% of the land.

Let's leave Obama out of this. America was far more nationalised per capita before 1945.

It just was.

What do you figure we would have had the poor dragged every rich man out for a necktie party? No one who condemns the new deal is interested in looking at what it did at the time, they just blame it for any current mess we have. When you consider it in it's contemporary context, what was going on at the time, it is clear something had to give. Real socialist/communist parties were getting stronger every day. Anarchists were everywhere, domestic terrorism was common. All of it was because the rich had all the money and was not letting it out. At the time it seemed capitalism was a dead end. Without the new deal you cannot even say what this country would be like had a courageous president not put people to work.

Similarly, fascism was the means to save capitalism in Italy.

We had our own brush with fascism when a bunch of very rich men inspired by Germany formed a conspiracy to launch a military coup. No telling where it would have went had the general they picked to lead the army seizure of Washington had not squealed to congress.

Much more authoritarian, even at the local level..

I guess they didn't understand how close the NIRA was to Mussolini's corporatism. :dunno:

You can claim that all you want junior - but I have links proving otherwise while you've offered nothing but your own (uninformed) opinion.

There is nothing "courageous" about violating the law and pissing on the U.S. Constitution for one's own desire for power and wealth. It wasn't FDR's place to put people to work. That is not the roll of the Executive branch and the president. Their job - their only job domestically - is to enforce the laws created by Congress.

Yes, stupid. Any other lies you'd like to attempt while we're both here?
