oooooh, that's a pretty gutsy claim, in light of the Cherokee Nation's recent official, racist declaration against all Negro citizens of Cherokee descent.

Truth isn't "gutsy" it simply is what it is. Some of our grandparents didn't talk much about their heritage because indians just were not popular or well thought of in their days. Mixed match and we can also have ancestors that came off the original boats. My dad told me I was one of the last of the daughters of the republic before he passed.
