The New Appeal Of Communism

Marx would probably say , "no worries lets slowly starve another 120 million to death" !

I doubt it. Marx was an intellectual. Lenin was evil and had malicious intent, but Marx was someone who wanted to live his life contemplating his navel without the pressure of making a living.

Marx lacked IQ to understand capitalism. He thought workers had no power. He'd feel really dumb seeing hockey players getting $10 million a year thanks to the free market.
Marx likely had a good understanding of "rents"
Quasi-rent - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Quasi-rent is a term in economics that describes certain types of returns to firms.

"Quasi-rent differs from pure economic rent in that it is a temporary phenomenon.

"It can arise from the barriers to entry that potential competitors face in the short run, such as the granting of patents or other legal protections for intellectual property by governments."

So what communism is being discussed, Marxist communism or just the name communism that some leaders have applied to their nations systems?

Seems reasonable, given that Marx coined the term "Communism." It's true that Marx built upon ideas of the Fabians, but he is the father of Communism.
But how many nations have actually practiced Marx's communism as Marx intended?

That would be a round number. The truth is, marxism never had any chance of making it. Marxism, like Libertarianism, ignored basic human nature. Like Communism, Libertarianism only exists in the hope of conservative minds.

The USSR dropped Marx's communism a couple of years after the revolution, it didn't work. I know of no nation that Marx has worked but still many nation called themselves communism. Seems they used the name but not the practice.

"When the world’s two great propaganda systems agree on some doctrine, it requires some intellectual effort to escape its shackles.

"One such doctrine is that the society created by Lenin and Trotsky and moulded further by Stalin and his successors has some relation to socialism in some meaningful or historically accurate sense of this concept.

"In fact, if there is a relation, it is the relation of contradiction."
The Soviet Union Versus Socialism
My understanding is Lenin was faced with the prospect of mass starvation within weeks of coming to power, and he accepted "help" from Wall Street representatives who offered food in exchange for abolishing the worker soviets the revolution brought to power.
