The confederate battle flag was a banner carried by confederate soldiers, not necessarily slave owners.

if the battle flag was all about slavery and few of the soldiers owned slaves, then the battle flag is not about slevery.

All five revolved around slave ownership in one way or another.

The flag is a symbol of the right to own a human being as property.
