A North Korean fighter jet crashed in China, raising lots of questions.
From what we know for sure is that it was indeed a North Korean jet and one pilot died in the crash and the other escaped before the fall.
Nothing more in detail was announced. Why didn't the jet land in a normal airplane and why it entered China in the first place.
There are rumors that it could have been an act of defection but nothing is certain for right now. In North Korea, being a jet pilot is considered to be one of the privileged, elites of elites. There's no reason for a jet pilot to decide to defect because he's not starving to death like the rest of the commoners.
Let's just say for the sake of it that they actually tried to defect.
But why?

Without a full explanation, we might have an idea why they would.

so the only reason to defect from a country is if you're starving to death? didn't a lot of high profile chess players, tennis players and ballet dancers defect from the soviet union? i doubt they were starving.
