I mean, we are pretty Totalitarian... or at least on the way. Bush got us closer than ever and Obama is keeping almost all of Bush's policies and inacting some even more disgusting ones.

If Totalitarianism "seeks to control all aspects of public and private life wherever necessary" then I would say we are certainly a lot closer to that than we were at the founding of this formerly great republic.

Well, Obama's about to go over to Russia armed with all our military secrets as his vote of good faith to get nothing for something from them, which they will happily supply if we pay them enough.
