Seriously, how can you Democrats who call yourselves liberals abandon Weiner for his moral shortcomings and want him to step down when most of you advocate against legislating morality? If Weiner did something criminal, fine, he should step down, of not, why the public abandonment just to look good and to save your own political lives by pretending to do what is "right" for the party? If you're all for taking a stand on morality how you support the homosexual agenda and be for abortion which are both morally wrong but not criminal yet be against Weiner who was morally wrong but not criminal?

Weiner seeks treatment, leave of absence from House
11 June`11 - Top Democrats call for New York lawmaker to step down over Twitter scandal
WASHINGTON — Rep. Anthony Weiner announced Saturday he was entering professional treatment at an undisclosed location and requested a leave of absence from Congress as he faced fierce pressure from top Democrats to resign in a sex texting scandal. An aide for the embattled New York lawmaker made the disclosure in a statement shortly after several Democratic party leaders demanded he quit for exchanging messages and photos ranging from sexually suggestive to explicit with several women online.

"This sordid affair has become an unacceptable distraction for Representative Weiner, his family, his constituents and the House," Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, said in a written statement calling for the 46-year-old married lawmaker to step down.

Disgraced lawmaker to seek treatment, does not say he will resign

The House Democratic leader, Rep. Nancy Pelosi of California, said Weiner "has the love of his family, the confidence of his constituents and the recognition that he needs help. I urge Congressman Weiner to seek that help without the pressures of being a member of Congress."

Weiner's spokeswoman, Risa Heller, said in the statement that the congressman departed during the morning "to seek professional treatment to focus on becoming a better husband and healthier person. In light of that, he will request a short leave of absence from the House of Representatives so that he can get evaluated and map out a course of treatment to make himself well."

6/11/2011 - 'By sitting tight, most of the politicians were able to stay in office'
If he manages to keep his seat in Congress, Anthony Weiner would join a handful of political figures who survived what initially looked like a career-ending debacle. And even if the experiences of the likes of Bill Clinton, Barney Frank, David Vitter and others weren't enough, a new poll points to a forgiving constituency.

Both factors point to what observers call a truism in the fast-paced world of seamy gossip and online revelations — the first few days after a politician comes clean are invariably the worst. "By sitting tight, most of the politicians were able to stay in office," said Julian Zelizer, professor of history and public affairs at Princeton University. "In general, voters are interested in these sex scandals, but they are not willing to kick their senators or representatives out of office."

Weiner, a married seven-term Democrat, this week acknowledged sending sexually charged photos and messages to six women he did not know. The scandal started with the release by a conservative blogger of a man's bulging underpants, a picture the blogger said Weiner had sent to a 21-year-old follower on Twitter.

The congressman initially said it was a hack job, then a prank, then at a candid half-hour news conference tearfully acknowledged sending the photo. Further revelations of additional explicit photos and online exchanges with other women quickly escalated the matter, and several colleagues have called for him to resign.

'Neither explicit nor indecent'

Illegal????

Try sexting to minors.

Sorry bout that,

1. Liberals have no moral fiber.
2. Lost that years ago.
3. Unless you get caught cutting some ones head off, a liberal will never turn his back on a fellow liberal.
4. They have no moral standard to hold themselves up to.
5. So there you have it, the Democrats are *pure shit*.

Liberals tend to turn their back on other libes when they become a political liability.

I hate Anthony Dildo, I've always been opposed to absolutely every part of his position, but he did nothing "illegal."

No doubt hes a perv and an asshole for fucking around on his pregnant wife while flirting with other woman..

The guy is a real snake and a douche, and its his MORAL obligation to his constituents to step down.

IMO, the real judgment is whether or not a man of his status should partake in such activities and the answer for that is; absolutely no!

17 might be "legal" but its not acceptable.

Go on, take the money an' run...

Weiner Will Keep Collecting $174,000 Congressional Salary While on Leave
Monday, June 13, 2011 - Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) will continue to collect his $174,000 taxpayer-funded salary without interruption while he is taking a leave of absence to seek “professional treatment,” according to the House Administration Committee, which has oversight over the congressional payroll.
In a 365-day year, a congressman’s $174,000 annual salary works out to $476.71 per day. Weiner announced Saturday through a spokeswoman that he would be taking a leave of absence from his duties in the House of Representatives.

“Congressman Weiner departed this morning to seek professional treatment to focus on becoming a better husband and healthier person,” said spokeswoman Risa Heller. “In light of that, he will request a short leave of absence from the House of Representatives so that he can get evaluated and map our a course of treatment to make himself well.”

Weiner, 46 and married, has admitted sending lewd photos of himself to women he met online. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has called for Weiner to resign from Congress, but the White House has stopped short of making such a call.

Rank-and-file House members earn $174,000 per year. The speaker is paid $223,500 and majority and minority leaders earn $193,400. The House Administration Committee, chaired by Rep. Dan Lungren (R.-Calif.), oversees the day-to-day operations of the House.

I want Weiner to resign because he's a scumbag who sent pictures of himself to people who weren't asking for them.

The people we elect to serve us need to not only make laws, but also need to serve as model citizens. Weiner is an idiot and a jerk, therefore, he should resign.

Legislating morality has nothing to do with it.

Weiner did nothing wrong, I mean in comparison to most other elected Democrats

What?
