The writer of this piece is probably correct in saying that there are plenty of others who are dreaming of a Caliphate even if ISIS is wiped out. For all we know, it could be people in our own towns.

The Mission Against Extremism
Based on Kuwait’s participation with the world community in the war against terrorism, the foreign minister said that there is a formulation of a strategic vision to wipe out the Islamic State (IS) because of the danger it poses against the security and stability of the region as a whole. This is strong rhetoric from a Kuwaiti deputy premier.

But the minister may know that wiping out IS, if it is done, does not mean that the danger of terrorism is gone, because there are thousands or millions who are dreaming of what Abu Bakr Al- Baghdadi is dreaming of. What we said earlier about the failure of all religious leaderships in all Islamic countries to condemn IS’ actions was accurate, because it was found from statements made by a large number of those leaderships that they support IS and strongly oppose the new international coalition to eradicate it.
