The mind boggling hypocrisy of the right

Mine, asshat. Now answer my question, you coward.

LOL, false again.

What do I do in your scenario? I push for legislation to make it that much harder for your scenario to ever happen again. Why doesn't this shit happen in Japan, Australia, Canada, the UK, etc...at the rate it happens here?

You want to arm the teachers, I want to disarm the intruder. I'll go with the option that involves less killing.....ya know, like a civilized society should behave.

^^^ not an answer..

Of course it is. I'm sorry you didn't like the answer. But that's what I would want.

He couldn't reason his way out of a wet noodle. It has something to do with having 2 brain cells connected by a spyrochete. He gets his azz handed to him in every debate.

Yes, Mexico has strict gun laws and lots of crime. Switzerland has lax gun laws and little crime. Detroit has lax gun laws and lots of crime.
It's cultural, not legal. Comparing the US to other countries is futile. If you want us to emulate one of those socialist paradises, get your butt on a plane to one, RDDeficient.

For the past 3-4 years, the RIGHT has been saying they want to pay teachers and cops less, hire fewer teachers and cops, disenfranchise teachers and cops.

Then we have yet another school shooting and all of a sudden its the RIGHT that wants teachers and cops to watch over us, take care of us, fight back for us.

I wonder ... with the RIGHT want to pay teachers more for suddenly being forced onto the front lines?

Hell no.

A mind boggled Democrat.. this is definitely, believable...

Something wrong with them doing the jobs they are paid to do.... jobs of their choosing?

If i am not mistaken... it IS a teachers job to protect the children. It IS a cops job to protect the public.

It's not a teacher's job to protect children from semi-automatic gunfire.

Hey dumbass. With all the school shootings we've had the teachers are ALREADY on the front lines. The right justs wants them to have the means and ability to defend themselves and their charges. Something you jackasses on the left seem to think can be done by posting signs on the property that says this is a "Gun free Zone". You freaking morons on the left are the biggest and greatest "Clear and Present Danger" to this nation in our entire history. We continue to fight threats abroad, while all the while the greatest threat to our security and freedom is to be found right here at home.

Ours - by preventing idiots and psychos (such as yourself) from being able to obtain a weapon as easily as they can now.

The only one who's odds improve with your plan is the armed intruder.

In Sandy Hook, the shooter could easily been stopped by a guard stationed at the office, or maybe a quick acting staff member from another area of the school
But those children's last hope was a teacher who had the means to protect them and herself. They're all dead because there was no adult that cared enough to protect them.

Easily stopped by an armed guard? Oh you mean like in Columbine?

Fail

The guard at Columbine was at lunch, sitting in his car, quite a ways from the building. He did engage the shooters, but it's never been explained why he broke off. Did he run out of ammo? Did he lack proper training?

Here, we are talking about a well trained, well equipped armed guard at his post. An intruder is using bullets to break through a doorway. He is obviously intent on gaining entry and likely would not notice a guard taking up an offensive position. The moment there was a clear shot, he would have been dead.
The odds are probably 10:1 that the shooter is the only casualty, but let's say, for shits and giggles, that the intruder does neutralize the guard. Does that meant we should have done nothing to prevent the carnage that is about to happen?

Great point!

Signs that says Gun Free Zone, do nothing. We need much stricter regulations. Thanks for pointing that out!

Let's say you're a teacher and there is a gun in your desk drawer. A student finds it and accidentally shoots himself or another student.

Which is more likely. Your scenario, or mine.

We both know the answer.

That's smart! Push for legislation as the gunman walks towards the classroom unopposed.
I want to arm either the teachers or a specifically purposed guard for the short term, WHILE we find ways to disarm those that would shoot up a school.
Passing a new law does nothing to prevent a school shooting. Adam Lanza was already intent on killing his mother and a school full of children. A law making it illegal to possess 30 round magazines would have changed nothing. By the time he set foot in the school he had already broken dozens of laws, One more regarding magazine capacity wasn't likely to be followed. Even if he was limited to say 15 round magazines, the only effect would have been that a few kids would have lived 2 or 3 seconds longer.

So, what more gun legislation really does in the wake of a tragedy like this, is make YOU feel better about yourself, while further restricting the rights of people who obey the law.

So, in a first grade classroom, just who's job is it?
We're talking about an immediate need here. We have a gunman at the door and 20 children have 10 or 15 seconds to live. No new law, no back ground checks, no psychologists identifying potential mass murderers is going to save lives. ONLY a firearm in the hands of someone not too timid to use it is going to effect the outcome here!
Granted, in a perfect world, no one would need to protect first graders from a hail of bullets.
Bottom line is, you are not going to end school shootings with laws. If making more laws was an effective way of getting criminals to obey the law, why not just make a law making it illegal to disobey the law?

Result: Utopia?

Please tell me how "we" are planning to do that. Please explain, brainiac, what you are going to do with the 300M guns already in circulation. Tell me, oh fart-brain, what will prevent the next massacre, when there are already laws on the books against massacres.
I realize you are short on thinking ability. But even your pea-brain could possibly comprehend how difficult it is to police 300M items already in private hands (probably 400M after this last scare).
Go ahead, Einstein. The world is waiting for your detailed prescriptions.

According to RDunceSquared, beating up on gun owners is the way to go. Perhaps really BIG signs saying "Absolutely positively no guns allowed" would really deter a madman.

Why stop there? We should make schools like prisons that keep people out instead of in. There would be big gates with bars where only top security are cleared, guarded by tanks. Walls made of concrete with barbed wire on the top would be mandatory. Intense physical and weapons training would be mandatory for all teachers. Machine guns would hang on walls.

Fuck, yeah!

The thing is, the big sign would likely work for you and I, but Adam Lanza? Not so much. End result, Lanza can kill unopposed.
