Old definition:
GOP

"U.S. Republican Party," 1884, an abbreviation of Grand Old Party. The Republicans were so called from 1876; the Democratic Party also was referred to occasionally as grand old party, with lower-case letters, in 1870s-80s.

New definition:
GOP

"U.S. Republican Party," 2008, the former abbreviation was Grand Old Party. The Republicans have now become Government Over People. They have now placed "government ahead of the people". They expect us to take it or leave it.

I have chosen to "leave it" ... and had no plans for letting the door hit me in the ass .... when I left!

From the Democrats policies they have also made much the same extremist change, just to the other side of the same coin. They to have put into effect many policies that are 'government over people' just for different reasonings.

I would agree with that. Though I would say Democrats are as much a part of that as the Republicans are. Notice they're (Democrats and Republicans) not debating with each other whether they should spend the 700 billion, they're debating on how it should be spent and how it can benefit their interests the most.

No kidding.... Sad isn't it... Maybe a new Conservative party needs to be formed for people who believe the government should get out of our way...

Democrats and Republicans are about socialism for a minority (rich folks). Just watch the $700 bailout, they are listening to Wall Street, to Bush, to the guys who didn't stop this from esclating, than listening to the American people.

Actually, from what I was hearing this morning, they are debating whether they should spend the 700 billion.

funny though...the democrats are fighting for the homeowners and the republicans are fighting for wall street....which are you?

And in fact, I'm not even sure it could be called debating. I think it's out and out fighting.

No, the Dems are fighting to put the money into wallstreet. And the Dems "fighting for the homeowners" is what landed us here in the first place, genius.

really? i need to turn on cspan. seeing a bunch of old people fighting should be entertaining, and probably more productive than what typically happens in congress

Are they actually televising it? CNN isn't...we just occasionally get haggard-looking refugees who come out from time to time or issue a statement saying they aren't getting anywhere.

I'm not sure where you heard that, all I've heard this entire week is Congress trying to come up with revisions to the Paulson Plan. The problem with revising the Paulson Plan is that it's still going to be used to bail out companies at the taxpayers expense regardless of how they change it.

I'd be fighting for the tax payers and opposing any bill bailing out companies that should be allowed to go out of business for their bad business practices.

Well, at least then there'd be a final outcome instead of more partisan bull.

really? cuz I thought they were fighting to make sure it wasn't JUST a bailout of wall street and that it included the homeowners as well...something the original plan didn't include...

oh and Allie...neg rep me again please.... it makes me all tingly in my sweet spot  Let's see if you can get me three times today...you got me twice already...

dumb bitch

THE ORIGINAL PLAN IS A DEMOCRAT PLAN THAT WAS DEVELOPED WITHOUT INPUT FROM REPUBLICANS, moron.

exactly. who do you think the last congressperson left standing would be? im thinking Andre Carson. a risky pick, but i got a hunch

I don't believe I got you twice today. What a waste if I did. But you did participate in the neg rep vs. whining about neg rep poll, did you not? If not, you should. Everyone agrees that whining about it is more obnoxious than actually doing it.

Though I enjoy it when people do both.

and I'm not whining...I actually like it when you neg rep me... do it again please... :D

and I said giving the neg rep is more of a pussy move than whining about it...so IMO you are a pussy Allie...and big, hairy, dirty, stinky pussy! you probably have meat curtains which is what makes you such a cranky bitch in the first place... ugly old twat...
