A very interesting, though very long, article was recently published by two ardent environmentalists. Below is the intro, the link takes you to the full article.

"Last week Breakthrough co-founders Michael Shellenberger and Ted Nordhaus returned to Yale University for a retrospective on their seminal 2004 essay, "The Death of Environmentalism." In their speech they argued that the critical work of rethinking green politics was cut short by fantasies about green jobs and "An Inconvenient Truth." The latter backfired -- more Americans started to believe news of global warming was being exaggerated after the movie came out -- the former made false promises that could not be realized by cap and trade. What is an earnest green who cares about global warming to do now? In this speech, Nordhaus and Shellenberger reflect on what went so badly awry, and offer 12 Theses for a post-environmental approach to climate change."

That is absolute proof that you are either greedy , or a complete idiot.

Nah, it just means I like living in a place where I can do pretty much anything I wish. I can ski out my back door. I can go mountain climbing in 15 minutes. I can go sailing on Lake Tahoe one of the natural wonders of the world. And you, you suck on your merkins and flog yourself while watching porn.

The Conservative dream of wiping out the current Biosphere is coming closer to becoming reality.

Where do you come up with that crap? No conservative I know wants that. If you would bother to read the article they very clearly lay the blame at the feet of environmentalists because of the lies they have been caught in. Try reading what they have to say, and BTW they are long time environmentalists of the liberal persuasion. There maybe now you'll read it.

Naw.

That line of thinking, which basically thinks that the Earth is infinitely resilient and can handle all the crap being dumped into it..and still keep the same sort of conditions that are favorable to life..is assinine.

In my lifetime I've seen dramatic shifts in the Environment. And from what I've read, there are dead zones in the oceans..along with an area the size of Texas filled with plastic in the sea and the shrinking polar regions..basically points out that at the very least..something is wrong. And Conservatives have been fighting tooth and nail to maintain status quo..or worse.

It's pretty clear.

Let me tell you something s0n............nobody gives a rats ass about the fcukking "biosphere" when they are paying upwards of $4.00 for a gallon of gas and obscene prices at the grocery store. Only the jackasses of the world keep talking about the "biosphere".

Anyway..........young people with zero real responsibilites in life have no business even making passing comments on threads like this. They dont know shit about shit. Get some real life responsibilities......a home, some kids and a job with real responsibility and then come back and join the dialogue.

I turned 50 last month and make six figures. Addtionally, I own a Manhattan, Co-op, "son". Your cutsey pictures are just that..

Not much here, really. So in the interest of being kind..cheers. "Son".

You can't tell a lie forever and expect everybody to continue to believe it. Just doesn't work that way. The reason environmentalism is dying out is because those that made all the big bucks for the big lies aren't raking it in anymore so the hype is gone.

Wow, are you like 10,000 years old? The Earth works on a time scale far more vast and slow then your short existence on this rock.

Nope.

Which makes the situation all that much more acute.

The earth and the cosmos could care less if we screw up our environment.

But thinking we "aren't" screwing it up is ridiculous.

Here ya go West............

The New Hampshire legislature just finished blowing the shit out of Cap and Trade...........and very likely a death blow to Cap and Trade nationally.

From the article.................

The national implications are also huge, considering the brick wall of opposition Barack Obama ran into on his cap-and-trade plan in 2009. It now looks like the only path to a national cap-and-trade bill would be for Republicans to again (as they did in 2008) nominate a pro-cap-and-trade presidential candidate. But the presidential nomination runs through New Hampshire, and with debates set to start soon, there will be tremendous pressure on one-time cap-and-trade supporters like Jon Huntsman and Tim Pawlenty to distance themselves from that advocacy and take a strong anti-cap-and-trade stance in a state that overwhelmingly rejected the policy on the state level.

Once these repeal efforts score nationally, Im out of this forum forever...............couldnt give a flying fcukk about this global warming temperature debate nonsense.
