According to the left the Country gave a mandate to Obama to raise taxes and do anything he wants. It has been proclaimed to be true by Obama admin officials Obama and the lefties on this board.

Using that Logic then in 2004 when Bush got reelected he had a mandate to do what ever he chose to do, remind us how the left responded to THAT claim?

For all you righties willing to throw in the towel remind yourself of how a split Government ACTUALLY works,

One house drafts a bill and submits it to the other house, the second house sends the bill to committee, makes the changes they think are appropriate and then passes it, the new bill is sent to a house senate committee to see if the differences can be worked out,

Now remind yourself How Reid for the last 2 years ran the Senate? He simply refused to send to committee any bill he disagreed with, he refused to do his Congressional, Constitutional duty. And now suddenly we the right are supposed to roll over and do what ever the left demands, doesn't wotk that way. The House must continue to vote its conscious and the Senate must do its Constitutional duty not stonewall the House.

The GOP needs to get their heads out of their asses and stop trying to destroy the nation in a childish attempt to make Obama look bad.

It didn't work, the american people threw the GOP over their knee and gave them a hell of a spanking, and Obama is in for the next four years. It's time for the GOP to grow up.

Tell us what you think, not what "the left" thinks. You've created a strawman. The election, if it said anything at all, told the Republicans they have to sit down and really negotiate. The ball is in THEIR court. The president can't do anything about fiscal matters until the House acts. Anyone that says he can do whatever he wants is full of shit and your quoting them as if it were true, is just ridiculous.

Boy, you got a lot of guts. Using this regime and Constitutional duty in the same breath. Virtually every plitician in washington will take an oath in Jan with not intent in keeping it. The Constitution is invoked as a matter of convienience to make political points, not in the course of conducting day to day business. We are no longer a country of laws, when the highest officials in the land ignore them. Now the celebrity of men is more important than governing and the great experiment of the United States of America has become someting else. Exactly what remains to be seen.

And the firewall of the House remains, get used to it.

So your fine with the senate ignoring their legal responsibility to pass a budget. Your dear leader has stated he is more concerned about preceived fairness than effective policies, when are you going to say something about that. Or do you share that ideology?

The american people are well aware of the childishness and america-hating views of the far right, that's why they delivered one hell of a spanking to the GOP on election day :eusa_clap:

Faulty Logic? What a tool.

Lefties? How's that bubble you're living in where the world is made up of you versus lefties? That world view kept you in the dark the past 4 years, eh?

No President ever has a mandate to do whatever they want. That would be a dictator.

What a President does get is permission and backing from the public for issues they ran on versus issue the opponent lost on...like raising taxes on the wealthy as part of a plan to steady the economic situation. Nothing radical there...

President Obama ran on raising taxes on the wealthy, and Romney and the whole GOP said no way...the public sided with the President.

Bush had no mandate except maybe Jeff Gannon

What Bush did have in 2004 was the backing of the public to continue his plans already in play that he ran on.

You keep mentioning the left. You do know the left has been angry at Obama since day one, don't you? :eusa_shhh:

The GOP under Tom Delay and Gingrich, the US Senate under GOP leadership initiated procedures and rules that went against precedent. Partisan crap that disrespected the party in the minority ruled under GOP leadership. Even in the minority, the GOP has mucked up the works not for principled reasons, just partisan political reasons...party over national good.

here's an example of the GOP saving America from President Obama and the Democrats:
Senate Republicans on Thursday blocked the No.1 item on the president's congressional "to-do-list," refusing to allow a vote on a bill that would give tax breaks for companies that "insource" jobs to the U.S. from overseas while eliminating tax deductions for companies that move jobs abroad.

The bill fell four votes short of the 60 needed to bring it to debate, with 42 voting against it. Four GOP senators -- Scott Brown of Massachusetts, Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine and Dean Heller of Nevada -- voted in favor of the bill. GOP senators block top Obama jobs initiative - CNN.com

The status quo, a stale'mate, hardly a spanking.

The House passed over 16 bills on fiscal matters and Reid refused to send them to committee, you people are being lied to or are just to stupid to believe.

Of course the bill was clean and all it had in it was what was mentioned RIGHT?

those bills were mostly political posturing as Reed told them ahead of time that certain provisions would make the bills DOA

so it was all politics

So let me get this right.... Reid, a Senator is able to dictate to the House what will and will not be considered and that is just business as usual, BUT the House can not create bills they feel are appropriate and expect any action from the Senate? And you claim the House is obstructing? REALLY?

I am and lying about why someone opposed a portion of it is simply ignorant. But then since you think the Senate should be able to dictate to the House what they pass I see why you would feel that way, MORON.

Unless a President wins by a lot and also wins the House and the Senate, he has no mandate. He should however govern as he thinks is right. And claiming Obama has mandate while the people kept the House in Republican hands is Hilarious.
