The Lies of the Left

Add to that Congress did not vote to invade Iraq, they gave that power and decision to Bush, as he (Bush) thought necessary. Secondly the Congress and the President did not have the same information on Iraq.
Bullshit
Congres knew they were authorizing war. that was the whole debate.
Some members of Congress had exactly the same info.

The Congress dumped the decision onto Bush. If Bush had decided not to invade Iraq we would not have invaded, if Bush did decide to invade we would invade. It was Bush's decision, and Congress let Bush decide, it was Bush's baby. Why did only some members of Congress have the same information as the president, did that mean the Congress and the president did not have the same information on Iraq? So, Congress passed a war resolution and some did not have all the information.

the leadership in the House and Senate....the heads of the relevant committees.....all had the same info.........

On Sept. 18, 2002, CIA director George Tenet briefed President Bush in the Oval Office on top-secret intelligence that Saddam Hussein did not have weapons of mass destruction, according to two former senior CIA officers. Bush dismissed as worthless this information from the Iraqi foreign minister, a member of Saddam’s inner circle, although it turned out to be accurate in every detail. Tenet never brought it up again.

Nor was the intelligence included in the National Intelligence Estimate of October 2002, which stated categorically that Iraq possessed WMD. No one in Congress was aware of the secret intelligence that Saddam had no WMD as the House of Representatives and the Senate voted, a week after the submission of the NIE, on the Authorization for Use of Military Force in Iraq. The information, moreover, was not circulated within the CIAamong those agents involved in operations to prove whether Saddam had WMD.

Seems if this were true, you'd be able to cite it from an objective source like WSJ. Salon? I'm beginning to think this is like Searchlight claiming that somebody told him that Mitt Romney didn't pay his taxes.

The source for the claim is Tyler Drumheller. Did you say WSJ?

Iraq has been an endless abuse of the CIA. CIA operative Tyler Drumheller said top White House officials simply brushed off the warning that "reliable intelligence" suggested Saddam Hussein had no weapons of mass destruction, saying they were "no longer interested" in intelligence. Former CIA operative Paul Pillar wrote that "intelligence was misused publicly to justify decisions already made."

It's good that you found an idiot in high places. Of course Saddam had WMDs. He used them against his own people.

Duh.

So did the WSJ.

Had being the key word. After being kicked out of Kuwait Saddam had not reconstituted any weapons program and did not have any of the weapon stockpiled or production facilities.

Saddam had the support of Ronnie Raygun when he used them against the Kurds.

The Kurd had been supporting Iran at the time too.

ISIS revealed an Inconvenient Truth, that Saddam did indeed possess WMD's

Have conservatives learned nothing since the last time their guys lied us into a war? Apparently not. They’re so eager to “prove” that Bush didn’t lie through his teeth about WMDs that they’re swallowing this bit of fear-mongering hook, line and sinker:

The jihadist group bringing terror to Iraq overran a Saddam Hussein chemical weapons complex on Thursday, gaining access to disused stores of hundreds of tonnes of potentially deadly poisons including mustard gas and sarin.

Isis invaded the al-Muthanna mega-facility 60 miles north of Baghdad in a rapid takeover that the US government said was a matter of concern.

Panic! Hair on fire! Bush was right all along! We should re-invade Iraq!

Idiots. Here’s the important bit:

The facility was notorious in the 1980s and 1990s as the locus of Saddam’s industrial scale efforts to develop a chemical weapons development programme.

Yeah, we knew it was there the whole time. Why wasn’t that touted as the smoking gun of WMDs? Because the facility had been defunct for years. There was no active chemical weapons stockpiled there. A little known fact that Bush and his neo-cons liars failed to point out is that chemical weapons do not have a long shelf life. Sarin gas lasst several weeks to several months depending on how well prepared the mix is. It does not last several years. Mustard gas lasts a bit longer but not a couple of decades (it was confirmed that Saddam abandoned his chemical weapon program in the 1990s).

Terrorists Seize Iraq s Not So Secret Chemical Weapons Stockpile But Not Really - Left Wing Nation

In the end the latest rating by 238 of America's best historians rated Bush second to last of all the presidents in foreign affairs.
