The Liberals have run congress since 2007, this is their mess

And the right did everything they could think to keep the majority elected party from being able to weild the power that our constitution gave the Dems through elections.

They pulled EVERY trick they could think of to twart our own government design.

Why do you hate America so much that you supported the Dems and Obama in causing a Depression that hurts the poor and middle class? Why do you like holding the country hostage with Obama?

When Obama took office America was heading towards a depression. No one on the right has given him credit for keeping America out that depression.

make sure and keep it simple, con. if you actually THOUGHT about any of these problems, you might become a moderate. obviously barney frank didn't single-handedly destroy the world economy, and to suggest so is so simplistic, it literally suggests that you're not operating on a normal level of cognitive functioning.

No he didnt do it by himself. He was just one of the factors in trying to keep it hidden. A continual play of the race card kept it from being reformed. Thats when the repubs jumped on board.
dude, the real estate brokers and bankers profited enormously from issuing those sub-standard mortgages and then tying them to falsely AAA-rated CDOs. do you really not know this yet? this idea that the bankers and brokers were somehow forced to participate in this because barney frank inscrutably wanted to give poor people homes is absurd.

That was part of the equation. However when did they enter that market. Answer: after the lawsuits.

Well, it's a good thing you're not blaming the crisis on either party JRK. Ya know, like you said recently.

Did the Democratic takeover of the House in 2007 cause housing prices and their derivatives to begin declining in 2006?
Did it cause the creation of the largest expansion of the welfare state since LBJ in 2003?
Did it cause two wars that started in 2001 and 2003?

Don't throw the man with facts.

Here is an interesting fact... While the answer is no to hack# 8537 what the Dems in congress and later with Obama did is start 2 new wars and expand on the collapse and the welfare state... kept torture, expanded homeland security, gave lots of tax credits and extended the Bush era tax cuts... Did stimulus and kept the much hated bail out for rich going and finally they caused a collapse by holding the debt ceiling hostage and passed the worst budget in American history that ended with the US getting it's credit rating downgraded, possibly causing a depression.

Oh, and repealed 0, that is to say none of Bush era policies in 5 years. (2 years under Bush, almost 3 now under Obama.)

You mean the Depression we are in?

Lets be clear and fair, if Obama saved the US from a depression (LOL btw) then that means the one we are entering now is all his fault when he put his name (owns) the budget that caused it.

Welcome to the board, Highway.
You've come to the right place to begin your reeducation.

The cause of the meltdown is the Progressive-Liberal philosophy by which a large all-knowing central government selects winners and losers using the mechanism of redistribution of wealth.

A recent book would be a good starting point for you, to avoid embarrassing yourself again.

1. 'In “Reckless Endangerment,” Gretchen Morgenson and Joshua Rosner argue that cozy connections between government and the financial industry were the primary cause of the financial crisis. In a series of clearly written narratives with many names, dates and figures, they show that government officials took actions that benefited well-connected individuals, who in turn helped the government officials. This mutual support system thwarted good economic policies and encouraged reckless ones. It thereby brought on the crisis, sending the economy into a tailspin.'
‘Reckless Endangerment’ by Gretchen Morgenson and Joshua Rosner - The Washington Post

2. The Tea Party WMD stockpile is currently stored in book form: Reckless Endangerment: How Outsized Ambition, Greed, and Corruption Led to Economic Armageddon. By Gretchen Morgenson, one of America’s best business journalists who is currently at The New York Times, and noted financial analyst Joshua Rosner, Reckless Endangerment gives the best available account of how the growing chaos in the mortgage and personal finance markets and the rampant bundling of dubious loans into exotically toxic securities plunged the world, and millions of American families, into the gravest financial crisis since World War Two.

3. The villains? An unholy alliance between Wall Street, the Democratic establishment, community organizing groups like ACORN and La Raza, and politicians like Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi and Henry Cisneros. (Frank got a cushy job for a lover, Pelosi got a job and layoff protection for a son, Cisneros apparently got a license to mint money bilking Mexican-Americans of their life savings in cheesy housing developments.)

4. Fanniegate: Big government, affirmative action and influence peddling among Democratic insiders came within inches of smashing the US economy.

So....what would you expect them to do, as patriotic Americans, in the face of the attempts of the organization of Leftists to subvert the intentions of our Founders???

BTW, 'Constitution' is capitalized, unless you are referring to the anti-Constitution begun by the progressive Woodrow Wilson.

Why do you posit those in the Congress, "the right", are "patriotic Americans"? The rhetoric of Republican leadership since the days of Ronald Reagan are better characterized as Chauvinism or naitonalism, not patriotism.

Republican doctrinaire has largely failed; it has failed to recognize the reality of pluralism, i.e. that no belief or single explanation or view of reality can account for all the phenomena of life. It's adherents adopt single. simple sentence. solutions to complex problems; in fact life is a calculus, with many variables, ever changing.

Barney Frank and the dems are responsible for the housing crisis.

No they aren't. Stupid bankers and home buyers are responsible for the mortgage crisis.

Mostly stupid investment bankers.

INVESTMENT bankers - who work at INVESTMENT banks - which are NOT regulated by the Community Reinvestment Act.

Do you expect me to take you serious when your obsessed with being a grammar Nazi?

Barney Frank and the dems are responsible for the housing crisis.

Obamas deficits are costing us far more than the wars.

And FYI. Obama is the food stamp president. Check the stats...

Gramps, it goes back further than that.

The Second Bill of Rights was a list of rights proposed by Franklin D. Roosevelt, the then President of the United States, during his State of the Union Address on January 11, 1944. In his address Roosevelt suggested that the nation had come to recognize, and should now implement, a second "bill of rights". Roosevelt's argument was that the "political rights" guaranteed by the constitution and the Bill of Rights had "proved inadequate to assure us equality in the pursuit of happiness." Roosevelt's remedy was to declare an "economic bill of rights" which would guarantee:

Employment, with a living wage,
Freedom from unfair competition and monopolies,
Housing,
Medical care,
Education, and,
Social security

This bill of rights held a number of parallels with the programme of the New Deal. It also reflected some elements of the 1936 Soviet Constitution, which guaranteed to the Soviet citizens the right to work, rest and leisure, health protection, care in old age and sickness, housing, education, and cultural benefits.

And it was FDR that began Fanny and Freddie.

Which contrasts Hitler's plan to marry Church and Government, establish defacto monopolies, strip workers of their rights and make them into real slaves and wage slaves, funnel tax payer money to huge corporations, kill socialists, communists, homosexuals, jews and gypsies, and bring back the "Traditional" values of Germany such as one religion, one race and one country.

Sounds alot like Bachmann and Perry..well the Tea Party in general..

Sieg Heil.

Imagine how much less ignorant you would be if you could replace propaganda with erudition.
From Schivelbusch, "Three New Deals," chapter one"

1. In 1933, Fascism was celebrating its eleventh year in power, in Italy, and the election of the National Socialists in Germany represented an unmitigated defeat for liberal democracy in Europe’s largest industrialized nation.

a. At the beginning of the same month, FDR was inaugurated as President. And before Congress went into recess it granted powers to Roosevelt unprecedented in peacetime. From Congressional hearings, 1973: “Since March 9, 1933, the United States has been in a state of declared national emergency.” Emergency Powers Statutes (Senate Report 93-549)
Now, who does that sound like....hmmmm..oh, yes, Democrat progressive Rahm Emmanuel.

2. The National Socialists hailed these ‘relief measures’ in ways you will recognize:

a. May 11, 1933, the Nazi newspaper Volkischer Beobachter, (People’s Observer): “Roosevelt’s Dictatorial Recovery Measures.”

b. And on January 17, 1934, “We, too, as German National Socialists are looking toward America…” and “Roosevelt’s adoption of National Socialist strains of thought in his economic and social policies” comparable to Hitler’s own dictatorial ‘Fuhrerprinzip

c. And “[Roosevelt], too demands that collective good be put before individual self-interest. Many passages in his [Roosevelt's] book ‘Looking Forward’ could have been written by a National Socialist….one can assume that he feels considerable affinity with the National Socialist philosophy

Wow, doesn't that pretty much prove what a fool you are?

d. The paper also refers to “…the fictional appearance of democracy.”

3. In 1938, American ambassador Hugh R. Wilson reported to FDR his conversations with Hitler: “Hitler then said that he had watched with interest the methods which you, Mr. President, have been attempting to adopt for the United States…. I added that you were very much interested in certain phases of the sociological effort, notably for the youth and workmen, which is being made in Germany…” cited in “Franklin D. Roosevelt and Foreign Affairs,” vol.2, p. 27.

I can't thank you enough for exposing how little you know about history! Bravo!

4. And, for one of your persuasion, how about another nail in your coffin: Norman Thomas chimes in:
“The similarities of the economics of the New Deal to the economics of Mussolini’s corporative state or Hitler’s totalitarian state are both close and obvious.” Norman Thomas, head of the American Socialist Party.

Did you actually get a diploma when you graduated from Clown College???

While that may be a source of the beginning it doesn't excuse current living politicians from not heeding the warnings.

"...it doesn't excuse current..."

Right you are!

But they're Progressives, gramps!
The discordant symphany began one hundred years ago with Woodrow Wilson, and will end with the coda of Barack Obama.
