The Left's "Militia" Boogeyman Rhetoric Heats Up.

These are terror experts.

Yes I will read about what they report.

I wish republicans would do the same.

I wish Bush and his admin would have read the terror reports instead of trashing the terror experts for political reasons and allowed us to be hit on 911.

As we see an alarming increase in "Militia" Boogeyman rhetoric from the Left,it really does seem like we are rapidly spiralling towards another Ruby Ridge/Waco-like tragedy. Bill Clinton's recent rhetoric comparing legitimate American Protesters to the Oklahoma City Terrorists really was incredibly irresponsible and unnecessary in my opinion. It almost seems like the Left is hoping for a Ruby Ridge/Waco-like confrontation. God i hope i'm wrong about that though. Their contunuous "Militia" rhetoric seems so sad & odd when you consider no one has ever seen any of these "Militia" Boogeymen. According to the Left there are Millions of these "Militia" Boogeymen all across our nation. Their numbers just don't seem to add up in my opinion though. If there were that many,i'm pretty sure we would all notice them more.

It also brings up the question of what exacty a "Militia" is. The Left's definition of "Militia" seems very vague and selective. For instance i always ask the Left if they consider the Black Panthers to be a Militia? I never seem to get a simple and straight forward answer from them on that question. The Left really should tamp down their "Militia" Boogeyman rhetoric before it leads to another terrible tragedy for this nation. We don't need more Ruby Ridges and Wacos. Lets hope the Left has a change of heart on this one and slows down on this kind of rhetoric.

if these militia were left-wing and rose up after bush was appointed president by the supreme court, you'd be addressing the issue differently.

anyone threatening force against the federal government is dangerous and should be dealt with. constitutionally, militia were to be an arm of the state, not anti-government activists who want to use guns because they don't like the election results.

So the Black Panthers are a Militia? They openly support armed resistance. Hmm?

nice red herring. when were the black panthers a relevant political force? and when was the last time that dem candidates pandered to them to get votes?

perhaps next time you'll address the point that was raised. obfuscation doesn't make a compelling argument.

Do you wish Clinton had treated the 1993 WTC attack as an act of terrorism?

Not aimed at me but if I may respond...

Clinton handled it exactlty right. The fear mongering and gingoistic reaction by Bush was a disgusting display of fear mongering. All fear all of the time. And what did he do? Where is Ossama? I hate that stupid little cheer leader prick with every fiber of my being for what he did and especially for what he failed to do...which was to capture Ossama when he had the chance to in Bora Bora. No....the sniveling coward moron needed a boogyman out there for his political fear campaign and let him run away. As it turned out Bush and Cheney were the true terrorists.

She expected him to stop it in the few days he was in office before it happened.

Yet after 9 months of the terror experts trying to get Bush to pay attention to the threat of OBL they blamed Clinton fro this one too.

US facing surge in rightwing extremists and militias

• Civil rights report shows 250% rise in 'patriot' groups
• Economy and media conspiracy theories fuel growth

The US is facing a surge in anti-government extremist groups and armed militias, driven by deepening hostility on the right to Barack Obama, anger over the economy, and the increasing propagation of conspiracy theories by parts of the mass media such as Fox News.

The Southern Poverty Law Centre, the US's most prominent civil rights group focused on hate organisations, said in a report that extremist "patriot" groups "came roaring back to life" last year as their number jumped nearly 250% to more than 500 with deepening ties to conservative mainstream politics.

The SPLC report, called Rage on the Right, said the rise in extremist groups was "a cause for grave concern" given their propensity to use violence during their heyday in the 90s, most notably with the Oklahoma City bombing that killed 168 people. It added that the issues driving support for such groups were increasingly populist and that "signs of growing radicalisation are everywhere".

"Patriot groups have been fuelled by anger over the changing demographics of the country, the soaring public debt, the troubled economy and an array of initiatives by President Obama that have been branded "socialist" or even "fascist" by his political opponents," the report said.

"Already there are signs of … violence emanating from the radical right. Since the installation of Barack Obama, rightwing extremists have murdered six law enforcement officers. Racist skinheads and others have been arrested in alleged plots to assassinate the nation's first black president. One man from Brockton, Massachusetts – who told police he had learned on white supremacist websites that a genocide was under way against whites – is charged with murdering two black people and planning to kill as many Jews as possible on the day after Obama's inauguration. Most recently, a rash of individuals with anti-government, survivalist or racist views have been arrested in a series of bomb cases."

The report says the patriot movement has "made significant inroads into the conservative political scene" in part driven by a growing view of the US administration "as part of a plot to impose 'one-world government' on liberty-loving Americans".

"The Tea Parties and similar groups that have sprung up in recent months cannot fairly be considered extremist groups, but they are shot through with rich veins of radical ideas, conspiracy theories and racism," the report says.

Whole article...

I gave them a link to the homeland security report and they called them political hacks.

They accept no facts they dont like.

I don't think this is just a "Conspiracy Theory." Still not sure why this post was moved from politics to "Conspiracy Theories." Oh well, another issue for another day i guess. I do see an an alarming increase in the Left's use of "Militia" Boogeyman fear mongering. I think many others see this as well. Their use of the term "Militia" seems to be pretty loose at best. They claimed that this Hutaree group that was recently arrested were a "Militia" yet their proof of this seems pretty shady and a bit of a stretch. They should have been more accurately labelled a nutter Cult instead. So what is a "Militia" or "Militiaman?" The Left does seem to be using these terms to describe any group or individual who disagrees with them. I think this is both dangerous and wrong. This kind of fear mongering rhetoric needs to end. It's just not good for our nation. I really do hope the Left changes its tactics

Its all fun and games until someone loses an eye!

They keep imagining some liberal getting killed and are fine with that.

They forget McVeigh killed women and children from Oklahoma and some who died were not liberals.

Seems like a Left Wing set-up to me. It looks like they're actually hoping for some kind of violent confrontation so they can try and crush all dissent. This kind of fear mongering stuff is so dangerous and wrong. It really is incredibly Un-American in my opinion. I hope this stuff doesn't lead to violence. God Bless America.

I think blowing up a building in Oklahoma and killing 168 Americans was unAmerican.

you people refused to listen to any of the warnings about violent speach

Our local militia operates in the open, with the approval of the state. The county and the state request help from our militia when someone gets lost or during a manhunt.

Yes they do. Gov. Brewer signed the bill on April 28th 2011
She is able to call up our state militia anytime that she thinks they are needed.

Brewer signs bill authorizing volunteer state militia Arizona Capitol Times

The definition of 'militia' does seem to be a fleeting one. One of the teachers at the local HS and I had a conversation a while back and I asked her the same question about the Black Panthers. She answered that the Black Panthers were a "civil rights" group!
She also answered that the local VFW members were almost all militia and that org should be watched!

Gee, I asked a local former teacher and now a day trader the same question. He said a militia was a losely organized group which held common beliefs - mostly of the paranoid variety - who believed that "They" were out to get them. Running around the woods or the mean streets in 'uniforms' gave them a sense of power and belonging.

He added anti anxiety medication was the likely cure for militia members, no matter the demographic.
