The Last Sermon of Prophet Muhammad

Prophet Muhammad delivered his last sermon in the Uranah Valley of mount Arafat. His words were quite clear and concise and were directed to the entire humanity.


After praising, and thanking Allah he said:

"O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and TAKE THESE WORDS TO THOSE WHO COULD NOT BE PRESENT HERE TODAY.

O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your LORD, and that HE will indeed reckon your deeds. ALLAH has forbidden you to take usury (interest), therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital, however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity. Allah has Judged that there shall be no interest and that all the interest due to Abbas ibn ‘Abd’al Muttalib (Prophet’s uncle) shall henceforth be waived…

Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.

O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under Allah’s trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with any one of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste.

O People, listen to me in earnest, worship ALLAH, say your five daily prayers, fast during the month of Ramadan, and give your wealth in Charity. Perform Hajj if you can afford to.

All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves.

Remember, one day you will appear before ALLAH and answer your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.

O People, NO PROPHET OR APOSTLE WILL COME AFTER ME AND NO NEW FAITH WILL BE BORN. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the QURAN and my example, the SUNNAH and if you follow these you will never go astray.

All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. Be my witness, O ALLAH, that I have conveyed your message to your people".

While there is a lot of bad stuff caused by organized religion it's not all caused by it. There are many bad things caused by extremist atheists as well.

Muslims don't drink or do drugs and most don't smoke.

We believe that adultry is a serious sin and don't have affairs.

Islamic women do not have to provide even one penny to the household..

The man is to pay ALL bills

If a Muslim woman works. She can have her own bank account and that money is her to with as she pleases.

Indeed. And a lot of Christians forget that, according to St. Paul, 'Charity' should always come before 'Faith' or 'Hope'.

Alpha Company was one, and the Hollyweird version is Generation Kill on HBO. Both show the same thing.....the dude sits on their ass while the women work.

As far as her own bank account? Wrong again.....according to your bastardized religion, the man is the owner of EVERYTHING in the family, and it is distributed to others at his pleasure only.

"The Last Sermon of Prophet Muhammad " was given in front of a large crowd of people. Some of whom wrote down his words. This final speech before he died, explains in a nutshell what he was trying to teach during his whole life. It addressed several subjects, one of which is racism.

Yes, ABikerSailor, I am sure you met some bad characters in your travels in muslim countries. There are over one billion Muslims in the world. So of course not all people who carry the title of a religion are good examples of that religion. Whether it's Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, or Buddhism. There will always be those who are hypocrites to their faith.

How can any suicide bombing be reconciled with this statement? This statement forms the basis of all major religions. It is the elementary moral principle. How can any inquisitor, crusader, or modern day Christian, Jewish, whatever "warrior" reconcile himself with these words, clearly echoed in the Commandments and the teachings of nearly all of the "great" prophets?

The answer is that there IS NO RECONCILIATION BETWEEN THEM. There is no just war. You can only LIVE peace, religion, and solidarity, or NOT live peace, religion or solidarity. Killing in the name of a peaceful faith is to kill your faith. There is no such thing as war in the name of peace. If there is ANYTHING that religion should stress is this most elementary of truths.

I don't think that one has to arrive at this conclusion from religion, but religion should certainly make it much easier to see- if you are honest and serious about your religiosity. A true Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddhist or whatever would never kill for their faith if they really believed in it. God says not to kill. And if you are going to get killed and you truly believed in God, then killing back should certainly not be a necessity. After all, you're going to heaven anyway, if you truly believed in your faith. Turn the other cheek, if you fucking dare. If not, then you are truly only dooming yourself in defense of something empty and completely false- to yourself more than anyone. Of course, if people really lived according to their faith there would be no need to turn the other cheek.

If the message was truly heartfelt, and not some superficial 'tradition', then maybe the ideals embodied in these faiths would actually be as widespread as their membership. They are not.

sunni are you not concerned that in raising your daughter in the Muslim faith you would be depriving her of many experiences ..like her first sexual encounter at 14 with a man that will be only a fleeting part of her life.. or her first drunken one night stand..the rush of personal control she would get from her first ...abortion on demand ??
