The Issue Is NOT Repealing The ACA

The Ryan-Murray budget deal was a betrayal to be sure. Tea Party conservatives have been wise to the Republicans for a long time; so the betrayal was predictable. Saving Democrats only scratches the surface of the latest Republican betrayal.

Obama lied. He broke his promises about ObamaCare. Broken faith is melting the Democrats’ hopes of winning elections in 2014. Obama cannot smooth-talk voters back who no longer trust him and are no longer listening.

Therefore, Republicans had to save the Democrats and throw away the GOP’s advantage for 2014. Republicans broke their own promise to the voters – also a core promise – to reduce spending and get the deficit under control. Now voters can feel equally betrayed by both Republicans and Democrats. Now there is no need to favor Republicans over Democrats in 2014, because both parties broke bedrock campaign promises.

Republicans cannot win without the conservative vote just as Democrats cannot win without the black vote. Karl Rove Republicans, especially John Boehner and Paul Ryan, are gambling that declaring war on Tea Party conservatives will teach them they do not have the same clout black Democrats exercise in their party. In case you missed it, the budget deal did not betray black Democrats.

NOTE: Hispanics are angling for the same clout black Americans enjoy. Democrats have only to convince both groups that their goals are identical.

I believe this is where Jonathon Moseley misreads Republican strategy:

Republican leaders argue that the Ryan-Murray deal allows Republicans to “put the budget behind them” so that “we can get on to other issues.” What other issues? If Republicans don’t get the nation’s finances in order, what else matters?

Of course, the next issue that Republican insiders want to hurry and turn their attention to is granting amnesty to illegal aliens. That will infuriate the conservative base into open revolt, possibly costing Republicans the 2014 elections.

The issue Republicans want to “. . . get on to . . .” is NOT repealing HillaryCare II. Amnesty for illegals is a diversion the leaders of both parties agreed on in order to take the focus off of repealing the ACA in 2017. Not winning control of the Senate, and even losing the House, is a small price to pay if HillaryCare II survives until 2020. Democrat/Republican strategy says the ACA will be set in cement by then.

This next excerpt is true if you are talking about the general election only:

There is already a natural tendency toward apathy. Let’s see: A typical voter could (a) go fishing with his daughter, or (b) spend Saturday knocking on doors for a Republican candidate who lies to him and breaks his campaign promises and who will insult his conservative beliefs if elected. Tough decision. Spending time with your family suddenly sounds like a better choice than making phone calls, pounding yard signs beside the road, knocking on doors, or helping organize campaign events.

The above is not true in the primaries.

Taken all together, Republican betrayals, HillaryCare II, the way it was passed, increased insurance premiums, astronomical deductibles, Barack Taqiyya’s failed foreign policy along with his lies about everything give Tea Party conservatives the best chance they’ll ever get to nominate, and elect, trustworthy candidates in 2014. They sure as hell won’t find any among establishment Republican wannabes.

Serendipitously, Republicans will finally learn the lesson they failed to learn in 2008, and 2012; don’t count on Tea Party conservatives voting for you just to beat the Democrat. Jonathon Moseley puts it nicely:

So if the Republicans win next year we will fly off the cliff at 80 miles per hour. If the Democrats win we will fly off the cliff at 100 miles per hour.

Boehner’s latest antics reaffirms my belief that establishment Republicans will go to any lengths to avoid repealing the ACA. There is no surer way for Republicans to lose elections than to sign on to amnesty for 20 million illegal aliens

House Speaker John Boehner hasn't been coy about his interest in tackling immigration reform legislation.

Just last week the Republican leader said he was 'hell bent' on doing so before the 113th Congress adjourns at the end of this year, despite facing pressure from members of his caucus not to bring the issue to the House floor.

'Ohhhh. This is too hard': Watch House Speaker John Boehner squeal like a child while making fun of Republican colleagues who don't want Congress to debate immigration reform

Obama has already de facto repealed the ACA. Many parts of the original law have been ignored, waived and delayed. The mess is going to collapse of its own weight before it is ever full implemented.

Just sayin'.

It is working quite well, considering the fixes to the terrible rollout.

The issue now is reform, ver repeal, because the TPM is overestimating its clout.

The Democrats won in 2012 and kept the Senate BECAUSE the TPM scared so many centrists voters to the Democratic ballot.

I wrote almost five years ago in this forum that the far right reactionaries would overreach and eventually become marginal.

We saw that on the Budget and Debt votes last year.

I get a lot of pleasure watching the right wing implode. It would be a perfect scenario if the old-time neocons got involved!

It's only working quite well if your definition of working well is destroying our health care system.

To boedicca: I understand your perspective, but the longer the ACA remains on the books the deeper its roots will go. The ACA will create well over 125 new bureaucracies, and that’s not counting the parasites who will get jobs in the healthcare industry; many will join the SEIU. Once that many parasites have government jobs it will be impossible to do anything about that terrible law no matter what it does to the rest of us.

It's why I'm no longer a Republican. They've become Democrat-light in recent years. Big government; big bailouts; open southern border; endless war; no backbone! Two sides of the exact same coin and both in the hip pocket of the International Bank. With Dems and Repubs on the same team Americans are finished. Time to prepare for the coming fallout.

Dennis Miller cracks me up, but he’s wrong about Boehner’s tan. Move the cursor to 2:25:

No tanning lamp for Boehner. He uses Max Factor Pan-Cake Makeup Tan #2. Every morning he puts it on with a spray gun.

I'm glad Miller lambasted Bone-r. That craybaby, RINO doesn't represent me for one second. I'm WAY too conservative for the likes of him and his Demo cronies.

A failed comedian and a drunk who wears too much makeup ... ?

Pretty bad when that's the best the right has to offer.
