I heard about this a while ago, but missed it. You can still watch the full length report on Iran's extremely violent dealings with its unwilling population from PBS, "Forbidden Iran".
Watching this, I understand now that the reason we aren't hearing that much coverage of what happens in Iran is because reporters have reason to be afraid for their lives when speaking out. The method by which Iran keeps its population in check is something they need to address (which probably means a complete overhaul of the system).
