I was old enough prior to 1964 to be denied use of a public restroom, service in a restaraunt, see my parents(one of whom is still living) have excrement and urine thrown on them during a civil rights march, and called racial slurs by hostile thugs wearing police uniforms.

That aside, I have quite a few relatives who are older than 75 who are still living, and are healthy that experienced even worse.
