I posted this on another board about 1 1/2 years ago.........
I just got back from one of my daughters swim meets and saw something miraculous!
I first saw this little girl about two years ago. She's is black about 6 years old
and missing her right arm and right leg. Yes, read that again, missing her right arm and right leg. She is always with her parents who are white.
I saw them through the summer and again the next. The little girl never swam but
her brother and sister did.
Well, TONIGHT she swam...Again, SHE SWAM! In a swim meet! AND she won
one of her heats, not to mention a couple hundred hearts! Imagine seeing a
young kid with only one arm and one leg swim in a competitive swim meet.
Turns out that she was born in Ethiopia. She was hit by a train about four years ago
and came to the U.S. for treatment. Her parents that she is with were her sponsor family
here during her treatment and have now adopted her.
Man...WHAT SPIRIT! WHAT COURAGE! WHAT PARENTS!
