Hollywood Delegation Visits Iran, Iran Demands Apology for Three Decades of Insults"

In response to the visit, Javad Shamaghdari, art advisor to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, called on senior Iranian filmmakers not to meet with the Hollywood visitors, until they apologized for insulting the Iranian people and the Islamic Revolution and for issuing lies in films such as "300," "Not Without My Daughter," and, recently, "The Wrestler." He said, "Cinema officials will only have the right to have official sessions with... Hollywood movie makers when [the latter] apologize to the Iranians for their 30 years of insults and slanders." He added that Iran would believe U.S. President Barack Obama's promise of change if it was expressed in an official apology from Hollywood.

The Media and Hollywood War Against Christianity

In his new, best-selling book, "Persecution: How Liberals Are Waging War Against Christianity," David Limbaugh exposes the outrageous bias and discrimination against Christians. Read Part I in this series, Intolerant 'Liberals' Wage War on Christianity, and Part II, Leftists Treat Christianity as 'Cancer'.

The two most powerful molders of opinion in the nation, the media and Hollywood, are at the head of the line in the war on Christianity, frequently ridiculing and disparaging Christians in ways they would never dream of employing against any other group of Americans.

Writes David Limbaugh: "This anti-Christian bias manifests itself in unflattering portrayals of Christians in Hollywood films and entertainment television, and also in the demonization of Christian conservatives in the media."

Sometimes, he notes, the Catholic Church is singled out for special ridicule, a fact made obvious with the incredible overplaying of the recent sex abuse scandals where the facts were often overblown, especially in the media’s incessant labeling of it a "pedophile priest" scandal, where only a tiny percentage of the cases involved pedophilia and the overwhelming majority involved teen-agers molested by homosexual priests.

The media, the author says, portrays Christians as unreasonable and violent, charging them with violent acts against abortionists, abortion clinics or homosexuals while at the same time both Hollywood and the media downplay injustices and violent acts committed against Christians.

A favorite media tactic is the use of the pejorative term "religious right" to describe Christian conservatives, implying such believers are, as the author writes "intolerant, backwoods fanatics, and yet never labeling religious liberals such as Jesse Jackson, as the ‘religious left’ or other leftists as the ‘anti-religious left." Limbaugh cites a screed by the Washington Post’s Michael Weisskopf who described followers of Jerry Falwell or Pat Robertson as "largely poor, uneducated and easy to command."
The Media and Hollywood War Against Christianity

I think each people should get its dignity protected, I remember that some preahers have already called to found new media and society of productions city to counterbalance Hollywood in order to respect christianity...it should be the same strategy for muslims and other important religions in America and Europe.

If we need really a dialogue btwn civilisations and religions, those who control media have to respect others!

as D. Feder pointed, Hollywood and media moguls hates authentic Christians and muslims, because Christianity and islam are diametrically opposed to its worldview – a dogma reflected in the very deep thoughts of Michael Moore, Tim Robbins and Barbra (color me stupid) Streisand. It's based on the following tenets:
Sexual Liberation- A Live-for-the-Moment Ethos- The Cult of Self

The sort of logic used in the analysis shown here could be equally used to portray Hollywood as anti-"name any group you please" - primarily because the surveys are extremely inadequate and Hollywood produces a huge variety of movies.
Edison likely showed a belly-dancer in an early film because it was something most viewers of the time would never see in life. Look across the films of the era. A lot showed dances of some sort; the dance film genre was fantastically popular into the 50's when it waned.

Consider the attitude of Hollywood in Westerns.
Sometimes the Law gets a bad rap (the crooked Sheriff Behan in Tombstone)
Sometimes the Indians get a bad rap (Stagecoach or She Wore a Yellow Ribbon)
Gamblers, Guns, Alcohol, Prostitution, Bankers, Railway men, Ranchers, Mexicans, Whites, Blacks, Rebels, Union Troops, Bounty Hunters, Settlers, everyone gets portrayed in a bad light somewhere in some Hollywood westerns.

There's a simple explanation - Movies need an Antagonist. Antagonists are generally portrayed in a hostile manner. Variety makes the heroes come in all sorts, so the Antagonists also come in all sorts. By examining only the negative you can always get a negative stereotype.

when Mel Gibson wanted to portray the last hours of jesus life, he was crucified by media and hollywood.
in the other side, Scorecese was financed by hollywood studio to make his shiting "the last temptation of christ".

it's not new:
"all hollywood productions studios are owned by jews except United Artists" p.444, Encyclopedia judaica

I think United artists was bought by MGM in 1981 then Comcast in 2005.
