Got my image of the Royal Navy from Mutiny on the Bounty.

At the start - there is a sailor being flogged throu the fleet. Comes to the Bounty.

Some asked Capt Bligh - Sir the man is already dead, shall we cut him down?

Bligh -certainly not -we shall procceed with punishment!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously...... You base your opinions on things like this from Hollywood movies? Really?

Did you read the link I provided? As you can see flogging was practiced by the US Navy as well, and for a very long time.

Like I said, you really need to read a lot more history, and take a pass on that Hollyweird stuff.
