The Great Depression of 2012 Closing Homeless Camp In Tracy Stalled

Musta been mighty hungry...

Hunger Drives Homeless Man To Skin, Eat Cat
Jan 20, 2012 | A transient was arrested after police said he skinned and ate a cat while camping inside a Phoenix warehouse and music venue.
Authorities say the building's owners reported a burglary after they opened the warehouse Wednesday and heard blaring music.

Police found 24-year-old Russell Christopher Hofstad inside with his face painted and the cat's tail and intestines around his neck.

Hunger claimed

Hofstad told police he killed the cat because he was hungry. He also said he was going to use its skeleton as party decorations. He was arrested on suspicion of burglary and animal cruelty.

The Arizona Republic reported that Hofstad had been released from jail Jan. 10 and told police he had nowhere to go. He decided to camp in the building because he had attended music events there.

If we think about it we could consider the occupants of so-called "homeless camps". There are about three classes of "homeless" in society today, the families who have suffered hard times, alcoholics and drug addicts, and the helpless mental impaired souls. Left wing do-gooders seem to think that a lawless "homeless camp" are a legitimate step for families who have suffered hard times. Alcoholics and drug addicts like "homeless camps" because they get to indulge in anti-social behavior without rules and regulations. The mentally impaired are sometimes included in the substance abuse but usually are wandering dregs of society that the left wing seems to think are immune to the laws that govern the rest of us. Yeah, bulldoze the homeless camps so kids can enjoy parks without seeing junkies and bums expose themselves and piss in the ponds. Take care of families who suffered hard times in shelters and lock up junkies and alkies who can't follow the rules until they get sober.

People talk about rugged individualism and learning how to make-do with what you've got.

What better example of that than the homless making their own way in their own shelters?

Aren't they doing EXACTLY what the right accuses the poor of never doing?

That they are, and neccessity is a mother.

So strange that the wingnuts think that scenes like that described is vindication for their abondonment of their fellow citizens. I wish that they would have to walk in the shoes of a family that has lost it's jobs, home, and has major medical problems. For at least a year.

Granny is a fool if she thinks corporations are the enemy. Corporations have no power. They operate under the rules and authority of the government. Who is at fault when corporations outsmart the fools who make the rules or the crooks who become political advisors to the president like Frank Raines who took (stole) 90 Million taxpayer dollars for three years as Fannie Mae CEO? Why doesn't OWS occupy the white house? Because the socialist scum are all in it together.

It's really not so surprising that ignorant lefties actually feel they accomplished something when they think about the homeless in a tent in the park with a duck pond to piss in. They are horrified at seeing a Christmas manger scene in a park for a couple of weeks but having their kids stumble around discarded wine bottles and seeing smelly drunks in sleeping bags exposing themselves is a logical part of the social structure as long as they don't put up a Cross. In their twisted minds they actually think a lawless hobo camp is preferable to structured shelters.
