As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen; and, as the said States never entered into any war, or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties, that no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.

While the American Government was not founded upon any religion, it was established by the cement of many Christian principles, along with other moral religious standards. No religion is American, however, the high moral standards of religion are the basis of most of what America firmly stood upon in her bneginnings.

God bless you,

It's true that the federal government was not established with any religious bearings in mind. However, many of the individual states were.

It is beliefs in the vein of the opening poster that has reduced the conscience of America to the point that we produce such unconscionable material as derivatives and credit default swaps. Those with a true reverence to God would never participate in such schemes.

Those who belong to the church of evolution practice only the strong survive and lack a healthy respect towards their neighbor.

Just so you are not confused by "survival of the fittest" it also means manipulation.
