******* The Goodness of GOD *******

A thread dedicated to the Creator of the Universe and the Saviour of all mankind, Jesus Christ!:eusa_angel:

If God is so "good" why did He not want man to be united and co-operative? After all doesn't cooperation and working together exemplify "Love thy neighbor"? So the people of Babel had this great construction project happening and it was going pretty good cause it was a community project that everybody supported and then Bam! The Almighty comes down to have a look around and for some reason freaks right out, gets all paranoid and frightened that these mere weak mortals with no supernatural powers at all will someday rise above Himself, Master of the Universe. Now he didn't resort to the Final Solution like he had a few years earlier wth Noah and the flood and all that but what he did do really messed up human kind for the next several thousand years. That is if you believe this nefarious tale of divine jealousy and a fearful Creator of Every Thing who lapses into a moment of self-doubt and anxiety which induces a destructive society destroying rage. (notice all the begats at the end of this biblical account of a God's bewildering wrath. Somebody added up all the begatting that went on in the Bible and arrived at a 6000yr age for an Earth that from all appearances and evidence looks like it's several billion yrs. old. Even ten thousand year old trees for the young earthers to explain! Common sense and evidence is nothing tho...not compared to THE STORIES)

The fate of the citizens of Babel who attempted to build a tower, (not even twin towers, just one tower!) according to;

Genesis Chapter 11

1 And the whole earth was of one language and of one speech.

2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.

3 And they said one to another, Come, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar.

4 And they said, Come, let us build us a city, and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven, and let us make us a name; lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

5 And Jehovah came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

6 And Jehovah said, Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language; and this is what they begin to do: and now nothing will be withholden from them, which they purpose to do.

7 Come, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.

8 So Jehovah scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off building the city.

9 Therefore was the name of it called Babel; because Jehovah did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did Jehovah scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

10 These are the generations of Shem. Shem was a hundred years old, and begat Arpachshad two years after the flood.

11 and Shem lived after he begat Arpachshad five hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.

12 And Arpachshad lived five and thirty years, and begat Shelah.

13 and Arpachshad lived after he begat Shelah four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters.

14 And Shelah lived thirty years, and begat Eber:

15 and Shelah lived after he begat Eber four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters.

16 And Eber lived four and thirty years, and begat Peleg:

17 and Eber lived after he begat Peleg four hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters

Blah....Blah....Blah....

Now I'm sure some faith-filled believer thinks they have an explaination that will smooth over this blot on God's good name, it's just that the story makes God's motive luminously clear.

And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

Why? Because they were united in their rebellion against God.

God had given a command for them to replenish the earth and to spread out.

And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.
(Genesis 9:1)

Yet they chose in defiance to congregate into one place and to look to their own might and strength.

And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
(Genesis 11:4)

Interesting you should mention the twin towers. Shortly after 9-11 the very words out of the mouth of the leaders of our country mimicked those of the northern house of Israel during the time of Isaiah.

The words spoken by Tom Dashle and John Edwards were from Isaiah 9:10.

And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart, The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars.
(Isaiah 9:9-10)

President Obama even wrote the words on the beam for the tower:

They have proceeded to do just what they said they would. They have replaced the sycamore tree at ground zero with a erez tree (a blue spruce) and built ONE tower. A tower they call the "the One World Trade Center".

Their act is an act of defiance to God.

"The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good." Psalm 14:1

There is NO corruption like christian/jew corruption. You have stolen uncountable resources and murdered millions in the name of your fake religion.

Lying murderous thieves.

The "goodness"...my ass. The only goodness is for the wallets of you snakes.

Religion is the worst thing humanity has ever tolorated.

It is no secret that people involved in the occult have a rabid hatred of Jews and Christians. What's your reason, Huggy? ( all your excuses are baseless, there is more to this than the propaganda you've posted here )

In reference to Noah and the flood and afterwards, the tower of babel. Two things. The days after Noah people built their dwelling places on tops of mountains, they were in fear of building down below for remembrance of the flood. Eventually after much time passed - many, many years the people forgot - ( similar to the 9/11 event ) and the day came they went down to the valley and said we will build a tower that reaches heaven! Amazing how quickly people forget God and go right back to their old ways. Isn't it? As to Isaiah 9: 10 it is truly amazing that everything was exactly as it was with the judgment of Israel - is it not? Truly the LORD is trying to warn people! Why won't they listen?!

No, and all have violated God's law. Therefore, we must repent and put our trust in Jesus.

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)

but

"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." (1 John 1:8)

The goodness of god = cancer, deformed babies, humans who constantly kill over different gods, disease, parasites, mentally retarded people, really stupid people (most of the world)...

No, that is the result of sin. By sin, death and sickness entered into this world. But we do not have to remain under that curse for by His [Jesus'] stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Nevertheless, those things serve as a reminder to us that the wages of sin are death (Romans 6:23).

Moreover, to claim that deformities and cancer are bad you have to base your argument on moral absolutes. In order to rely on those moral absolutes you must take the Bible as true. If you take the Bible as true you must accept it for what it is.

I think it is remarkable the magnitude of evil that humans are willing to forgive in a deity:

No, that is the result of sin. By sin, death and sickness entered into this world. But we do not have to remain under that curse for by His [Jesus'] stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Nevertheless, those things serve as a reminder to us that the wages of sin are death (Romans 6:23).

So a deformed baby or one born with cancer is a result of sin? Whose sin? Surely not the baby's. It was just born and hadn't committed a sin yet.

God knew all of us before we were born. Each of us have the choice to accept or reject Christ. The choice that we make determines what our destiny will be and it is the Lord's to use us in the way he will whether for good or evil based on our choice.
So deformed and cancer ridden babies have chosen badly?

No, it is Satan's goal to steal kill and destroy. While he walked this earth God expressed his desire that all men would be made whole. And there is more to being whole than just having a healthy body. While God's desire is that you are healthy physically, he has a far greater desire that you be made whole spiritually. Everyone who is born is born in Adam and is dead already. You must become born again before you can inherit eternal life. In the new heaven and new earth there will be no sickness and death because sin will be no longer. There will be many people in heaven that had terrible physical conditions on this earth even many babies who were aborted, while there will be many people in hell that had perfect health on this earth. Eternity is a much more significant focus. What we do here on this earth in our short lives (Psalm 90, James 4:14, Matthew 25, 1 Corinthians 9:24, and Hebrews 12:1) is by the blessing of the Lord's mercy and should be for the Lord's glory. Our walk on this earth is not to satisfy our flesh but to deny ourselves.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
(John 12:24-26 KJV)
