Imagine your door being busted down to get at you for posting what the government deems hate speech.

German police launch mass raids over online hate speech

German police conducted dozens of raids targeting the spreading of hate speech online. Several politicians have lauded the concerted efforts.

German police in a coordinated effort conducted a series of raids targeting hate speech online. Federal police (BKA) perform operations in 14 of Germany's 16 states, reportedly investigating roughly 60 suspects. No arrests were made but computer equipment, cameras and smartphones were seized in the first-ever mass raids targeting online hate speech.

The operation focused in particular on the German state of Bavaria, where according to police sources a secret Facebook group had posted messages glamorizing National Socialism, which is illegal in Germany. The police said that this group and others spread xenophobic, anti-Semitic and other radical far-right content.

I wonder when the German police go after these people, if they look in the mirror and realize what they are doing is no better than what they believe they are going after ?

Nope, it is not illegal in Germany to glamorize National Socialism or anything. It is illegal to incite people to do something illegal. That has happened numerous times on social media. People demanded refugees to be put in gas chambers or be slaughtered with hammers, ect. This is not legal. I don´t think this police crackdowns are justified, though. One one hand, the offenses are minor as nobody gets hurt when stupid things are posted, on the other hand, there are multiple other cases of hate speech in the web, which are not targeted by the government.

Much more real but nevertheless less reported is a new case of an Iranian German who posed with two spiked heads in Syria. He was sentenced to two years of prison. As a member of a not specified moderate rebel group, he participated in the western backed war on Syria and was seen flashing the victory sign with two severed, spiked heads, what amounts a war crime.

Yep, libs are more likely to defend the ACTIONS of violent Muslims than words on the internet by their own people.

Spreading hatred and inciting violence is not free speech, that is why it needs to be regulated
