The final report of the 9-11 Commission reveals troubling new evidence that Tehran...

There is no way in hell that the EU is going to "allow" us to invade Iran. We would be totally on our own, even the Brits have an odd relationship with Tehran

I'm not so sure about that.

It seems in going into Iraq, we have been a good little lapdog and seized the day while handing it straight over to the EU.

Why would they waste THEIR $$$ and manpower?

Let the "big bullying evil dictating" USA do it.

Then the EU is truly envisioned as the great peace agency while the US gets its resources toasted and submits to full EU authority.

If anyone sees this scenario anything other than obvious, I would like to hear it.

I don't see how we've handed Iraq over to the EU.

Russia is helping setup government structure.

The EU is training the military and in talks with setting up military bases.

What authority does the US have?

We have conquered and flipped the ownership papers over them to the EU.

Russia isn't a member of the EU.

The EU is training the military and in talks with setting up military bases.

So are we, and so are other nations which are not EU members.

What authority does the US have?

That authority which is derived from 140,000 soldiers.

We are in far more control of Iraq than the EU will ever be.

The progression makes their inclusion emminent. Russia has already pledged huge support and is intigrated in many high level functions.

Last I read, we have withdrawn from that.

That authority which is derived from 140,000 soldiers.

Having troops there does not give us authority over their nation.

Now you are really dreaming. -That isn't even based on facts.

But that logic, it would seem their inclusion into NATO is also imminent.

last I read, we have withdrawn from that.

What? Training their military and building long-term military bases? I'm pretty sure we're still doing that.

Having troops there does not give us authority over their nation.

Sure it does. Right now there are more than 100,000 Americans in Iraq with tanks, planes, and guns. All power is derived from the barrel of the gun. The ones in power have the authority. We have the best guns on the field.

Iraq might be a sovereign nation, but in any realistic sense of the word, we currently have more authority, because we have the power to back it up.

I just don't see why you think the EU has more power over or more influence with the newly sovereign state of Iraq, or why you think it ever will.

You know what I find simultaneously humurous and disturbing?

When the President is re-elected and begins to get tough with Iran and maybe even arm anti-Tehran rebels in the south, there won't be a pro-war liberal as far as the eye can see.

This aspect of the report is convenient for liberals only insofar as it contributes to the anti-'Iraq War' movement.

You want my comment? Attack Iran. Oust the mullahs.

What say you? If you are against attacking Iran, let's hear it.

Oust the Mullahs!
