The Final Nail In The Coffin!

Taxes were cut in 2001 and in 2003; our economy nearly collapsed in 2008, before President Obama was elected and three months before he took the oath of office.

What are "Traditional Values"? If I were to define "traditional values" by the behavior of today's conservatives, those values would include avarice, bigotry and a callous disregard for others.

As for Joy Behar don't judge until the facts are known. Remember, circumstances change, reality requires adjustments; it is conservatives who stay the course even when the course leads into harms way.

Well at least you did not include intolerance, arrogance and elitism which would be included in my description of today's liberalism.

Immie

Bigotry is intolerance, and elitism is simply one more pejorative in the New Right Lexicon of Insults, a tool by those who wish to spread hate and fear.
It is not arrogant to point out troublesome and divisive language and behavior, Immie, it is responsible to do so.

John Kerry was arrogant. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are arrogant. TDM is arrogant. Many liberals are arrogant. Liberal politicians are elitist... but then so are conservatives politicians.

I'll give you the bigotry point.

It's all over but the shouting, so...
Three cheers for the ascendancy of conservatism!

They already underestimated Obama once and he was elected as OUR President. Sounds to me like they are doing it again. :eusa_whistle:

And, since you're too smart to throw you vote into the political waste-disposal....are you sitting this one out, or have you decided which Republican to vote for? (Oops...did I just end that sentence with a preposition???)

C'mon...'fess up.

What reason(s) exist to vote for any Republican for POTUS or for Congress? The GOP is now under the control of radicals, making even the few rational neo-conservatives nervous.

If a rational plan is ever offered by a Republican nominee for POTUS I'll consider voting for him/her. GOP wannabees are lacking of ideas and spend entirely too much time bellyaching and blaming Obama (as do you, PC).

All, when not attacking each other, speak using the same code and offering the same unproven catch phrases as immutable truths: "Government cannot create jobs" "Obama is a Socialist" "The Stimulus Failed" "Government needs to get out of the way"

The fact remains no comprehensive plan has been offered to solve our economic problems except to stimulate the economy which has been rejected by the New Right which controls the GOP and many self-described independents.

"Cut taxes, cut spending, cut government" is an emotional argument, it is not rational.

Targeted tax cuts makes sense, let's hear the details.

Spending cuts make sense, let's hear the details.

Cutting government makes sense, let's hear the details.

PC is too young to remember Nixon's campaign in 1968. It had two parts: "Peace with Honor" and "I have a Plan". Both short and easy to understand solutions and both failed. There was no honor when Saigon fell, it was chaos, and his plan took over six years and cost tens of thousands of Americans their lives, limbs and future.

The thing about the coming election is that the current guy has no plan. His stabs in the dark have all failed. He has demonstrated that he has no clue, no answer, no direction and no ideas.

At this point the monkey we all hear about banging on a keyboard has a better chance of writing the Shakespeare play than the Big 0 has of doing something good with the economy.

Any alternative to the current litany of failed attempts would be preferred.

It may be one more perjorative, but it is also an accurate description of Liberals.

What else may we take from the observtion that those that don't apreciate their wisdom are clinging to their guns and religion?

I have neither a gun nor a religious affiliation and I disagree with Liberals. Their elitist defintion fails here and only their eltism can preserve their self proclaimed superiority as a result.

Interesting how the leftists blame the Bush tax cuts, renewed by Barack Obama, as the single biggest reason why the U.S. economy has gotten frighteningly worse since Obama became POTUS over 2 1/2 years ago, and why Obama has increased the national debt by 40% and increased the budget deficit by 60% since he took office.

Pointing fingers and assigning blame is the ONLY game the leftists have left, since they can't legitimately defend their Messiah or the two-year nightmare known as "the 2009-2011 unilateral U.S. government".

The leftists will do whatever it takes to prevent the voters from seeing what's BEHIND THE CURTAIN.

Good job, PC. Give 'em hell!

President Obama has stated countless times that raising taxes in a recession is counter productive to economic growth. The single biggest reason the economy has struggled so much is the countless pieces of legislation passed under a complicit Democrat-controlled US Congress during the first two years of this administration.

With grandiose names like Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment Act--all have failed in their stated objectives.

The left, doubtless you too, have stated that in a recession it is imperative that the government drastically increase deficit spending. Using that logic the 111th Congress and Obama increased the national deficit by leaps and bounds, breaking all records.

Where are the results of the countless legislation and deficit spending

It is disingenuous to simply act like the first two years of Obama's administration simply didn't happen. But hey, it all would have worked if it weren't for...all the bad luck?

If a rational plan is ever offered? Let me ask you this: what was the Democrat's debt ceiling proposal? The only comprehensive plan that has been put on the table has been done by the GOP.

Same tired rhetoric? Have you listened to this president speak? The DNC has lowered the dialogue to such depths as to compare the other side to terrorists--the same terrorists that murdered thousands on 911. That kind of talk is fine with you, but God forbid someone say what the president himself has admitted, the Stimulus Act FAILED to stimulate the economy.

It doesn't matter how you are going to vote, the fact is a ridiculous majority of Americans are dissatisfied with the direction of this country and this president's handling of the economy. Americans are going to judge this president on the results of his policies, and yes he has been extremely successful at getting his legislative goals passed.

Perhaps you are so misinformed to completely forget that the 111th Congress that Obama received when taking office was dominated by the Democrat Party. But hey, they are blameless right?
