On a hill
Bonzi picked this last night.
Steven Spielberg produced and directed basically a story of himself.
Quite an ego really. I mean damn... a movie about yourself?
Anyway - it is decent. Well shot, the acting is well done also. The story is a bit rambling, but not so much it is hard to follow. The critics are falling over themselves to say how much they love it. Because they just love paying homage to Spielberg. It is a coming of age story that has been done 700 times, and much better than this. Example - Stand By Me. Infinitely better. But nevertheless we enjoyed it. It is well made, and you care about the characters. But it has been done before. Many times. Just a different kid, growing up in a different set of circumstances than the other million coming of age movies. Rewatch "Stand By Me" it is better.
Note to Flopper ... in Woman in the Window you mentioned that critics probably hated on it because the storyline has been done before, and better. Well... this story line (coming of age) has been done 7000 times, and better, but critics can't stop praising it. Just sayin
