Despite your insistence to the contrary, Europe is not 'better', it's different... 'better' is an individual perspective. Having lived in both, I'll take our way over theirs any day.... they have the Nanny State, we have (or are supposed to have) freedom. I prefer freedom. You are welcome to feel differently... but you can't change our country to suit your wants. You need to move somewhere that suits you. Go.... America will survive without you.

You've nailed it. It isn't better, it's different. I've lived in the US, so I can compare. I feel more at home here in Europe because, well, it's home and because of my job I have a very high living standard. But to claim that everything is better here is absurd. Here in Brussels, for example, crime is off the scale and hardly goes punished. Taxation is atrocious. And I could go on. That doesn't mean everything is perfect in the US either. On the whole, however, I still see a lot more Europeans seeking their fortune in the US, rather than the other way around.
