The end of the road for Barack Obama?

Mr Obama benefited in his campaign from an idiotic level of idolatry, in which most of the media participated with an astonishing suspension of cynicism. The sound of the squealing of brakes is now audible all over the American press; but the attack is being directed not at the leader himself, but at those around him. There was much unconditional love a year or so ago of Rahm Emanuel, Mr Obama's Chief of Staff; oleaginous profiles of this Chicago political hack, a veteran of that unlovely team that polluted the Clinton White House, appeared in otherwise respectable journals, praising the combination of his religious devotion, his family-man image, his ruthless operating technique and his command of the vocabulary of profanity. Now, supporters of the President are blaming Mr Emanuel for the failure of the Obama project, not least for his inability to construct a deal on health care.

Hold it

Some one is taking aim at the PRESS!! When is dear America going to learn--If the press is GUNG HO about it, then it is bad news....Nuke Iran anyone??

Surprise Surprise. An ability to run a slick campaign complete with Logos and Styrofoam columns doesn't translate in the ability to govern.

Your so right.

Being the POTUS is way, way harder than wanting to be POTUS.

The dummies of America elected someone with no experience whatsoever to be the Prez. Barry boy has been finding out that most Americans think his agenda sucks. They aren't interested in spreading their wealth and are definetly not interested in the Govt controlling their healthcare. Eloquent speeches and charm will only get you so far.

Much easier to run for POTUS than actually be POTUS. Welcome to the real world there BO.

My husband and I were recently talking again about Obama and I commented on how tired and stressed out he looks. His response was "It's a hard job." I agreed, but also went on to say that he wanted it! He wanted the job and now he's got it! Through his entire campaign I thought him to be unqualified, yet he rode his wave of popularism right into our highest office. Different story once you're in there ... ay Obama?

Jeebus.

From the way he talks, I thought he INHERITED the Presidency.

Go figure.

Are you saying Barry is no longer blowing sunshine out of his ass?

I think there is some stimulous money on the way to build him a proper shrine for the next go-around. Of course the NEA could get a jump on some newer fresher change and hope.

Unfortunatly for Obama, as a member of the VRWC, I've already seen the Republicans new 2012 bumper sticker. "Obama in 2024... if he's ready!"

LOL. I think he's discovered his ass needs a little more than sunshine. LOL

Well stated.

That's exactly what I'm sayin'!

Choice quotes:

The descent of Barack Obama's regime, characterised now by factionalism in the Democratic Party and talk of his being set to emulate Jimmy Carter as a one-term president, has been swift and precipitate. It was just 16 months ago that weeping men and women celebrated his victory over John McCain in the American presidential election. If they weep now, a year and six weeks into his rule, it is for different reasons.

One senior black politician – a Democrat and a supporter of the President – told me of the wrath in his community that a black president appeared to be unable to solve the economic problem among his own people. Cities in the east such as Newark and Baltimore now have drug-dealing as their principal commercial activity: The Wire is only just fictional.

For a land without a welfare state, America starts to do an effective impersonation of a country with one. This massive state spending gives rise to accusations by Republicans, and people too angry even to be Republicans, that America is now controlled by "Leftists" and being turned into a socialist state.

The end of the road for Barack Obama? - Telegraph

did you know that one of the owners of the Telegraph, David Barclay, called it the house newspaper for the conservatives?

just sayin'

oh...and obama's RPC average today? 48.6% and up over a point in the last week. so discussions of his demise are premature.

I wonder if they sit around talking about who or what to blame. I hear someone shouting out, it was the damn teleprompter. lol
No hunnee, they don't worry about stuff like that. They just throw people under the bus and drive on, oblivious.

That makes anything and everything they say automatically wrong.

Right?

nope... it makes this their OPINION. and that opinion generally takes a certain stance. If I direct you to Rachel Maddow's site to see what she said about health care reform last night, you'd probably say, well, rachel is a leftie... so i'm not going to listen to what she has to say.

as to matters of fact? well, facts are facts, generally. and i use the term 'generally', with regard to all media given i've never seen a story about which i had personal knowledge be covered truthfully if it was in any way controversial.

as to opinions... well, everyone's got one. ;)

So, when they quote people it's just out of context.

Right?

For the record, I don't agree with the conclusions of the op-ed. Because I know how fickle and weak-minded the American electorate in general is. If the economy recovers WITH JOBS Obama and the Dems will be safe.

Because the sheep will be back in the pen.

sweetie..................about 839 people watch The Rachel Maddow Show each night. Her ratings are "off the air" according to cable industry standards!! Only the real fringe watch her show..........The DailyKos nuts and a few others. Thats what happens to ratings when all the guests are committed far lefties like Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post.

I know it stings.............but the k00ks have to wake up and smell them maple nut crunch. Americans DONT WANT far left public policy. Never have...........Obama bamboozled the political center in our nation during the campaign with lies and deceipt, thus, his numbers are falling like a stone in water!!!

are ratings what validate something as being worthwhile?

about 10 people saw The Hurt Locker yet the Academy gave it the top prize. LaVerne and Shirley was the number one show in the U.S. at one time. That doesn't make it quality, snookie bear.

FWIW, I wouldn't bother with DalyKos any more than I'd bother with Rushbot.

And if you actually watched Rachel, you'd know that a) she's very respectful when people like Pat Buchanan come on the show... and b) they clearly respect each other. You do understand that people can actually disagree civilly? right?

And btw, I think your assertion as to her ratings is wrong, but again, it doesn't matter for purposes of this discussion. Perhaps if you'd broaden your view, you'd see nothing is as simplistic as you pretend.

I submit that in order to be able to post in this forum, you should have to pass a minimum political IQ score via a brief quiz.

Because Lord knows, many on this forum have the political IQ of a small soap dish!!!

ratings validate one thing: the political reality!!!

As a conservative, theres lots of things I wish this country would be, but I dont even go there because the political reality makes it completely impractical to even consider it.

For example..........we could sit here and debate the merits of "bipartisanship". But how stupid would that be? Theres no such thing..........its a contrived concept used by the media and politicians to dupe the politically dim. Thats just the way it is.............

Some of the stuff posted up in this forum by the DailyKos/MOVE-On fanatics? C'mon.........about as credible as the guy who walks naked down Main Street shaking a bananna at people warning everybody about judgement day acomin'!!!

ALmost 25 million people a day listen to Rush Limbaugh vs about 25,000 a day who watch Rachel Maddow. So really? Who's closer to looking like the man walking down the street naked waving a bananna at people???
