THis is not the time to go nuts and say we don't have any effect on climate. This is just a wake up that the models that didn't take certain realities into account were wrong.

This is just a reminder that we need to understand things first, then move.

I still think bike is better. Most all my business except picking up and delivering the kids for visitation and going to the Laundromat can and should be done by walking, biking or taking the bus.

So even though CO2 isn't going to bake us tomorrow, like Algore promised, we still have to breathe that air, and we should take care that it isn't too poisonous.

Well if CO2 is the cause of warming, there's a lot of explaining to do. With that said, I think you're correct, that we should all do what we can to leave the earth as good or better than upon our arrival. Drive less, drive smart, buy higher mpg cars, the 3 R's, pick up trash on those walks, etc.

Except the world didn't COOL. Temp was basically FLAT during that period. It SHOULD HAVE COOLED, but it didn't. It won't cool now either. It may WARM more slowly than the last 30 years as the MDO tries in vain to cool the globe, but it will still WARM for the next 30 years.

Actually, we are breathing the CO2 out of our bodies. Should we stop breathing? I am not willing to return to horse and buggy technology like windmills and biking in a day of modern conveniences. I remember my Grandmother stirring the cloths in a "washing machine tub", running the clothes through a wringer and hanging them on the line to dry. Women did a lot of physical labor and we don't need to do that again. I disagree that ous humans have much effect on the Climate or even the weather. Mother Nature runs the show not us.

World Temperatures according to the Hadley Center for Climate Prediction. Note the steep drop over the last year.Twelve-month long drop in world temperatures wipes out a century of warming

Over the past year, anecdotal evidence for a cooling planet has exploded. China has its coldest winter in 100 years. Baghdad sees its first snow in all recorded history. North America has the most snowcover in 50 years, with places like Wisconsin the highest since record-keeping began. Record levels of Antarctic sea ice, record cold in Minnesota, Texas, Florida, Mexico, Australia, Iran, Greece, South Africa, Greenland, Argentina, Chile -- the list goes on and on.
No more than anecdotal evidence, to be sure. But now, that evidence has been supplanted by hard scientific fact. All four major global temperature tracking outlets (Hadley, NASA's GISS, UAH, RSS) have released updated data. All show that over the past year, global temperatures have dropped precipitously.

A compiled list of all the sources can be seen here. The total amount of cooling ranges from 0.65C up to 0.75C -- a value large enough to wipe out most of the warming recorded over the past 100 years. All in one year's time. For all four sources, it's the single fastest temperature change ever recorded, either up or down.
