It sucks ... Obama likes to use the term "catastrophe", this would be a catastrophe for businesses......
It was inevitable that some pro-business folk who dont have a clue would parrot this tired excuse for corporate greed. The same whining is heard from them on the unions issue, minimum wage, employee health benefits and right on down the line. And this, while the corporate big-wigs fly to Congressional hearings in their 30 million dollar luxury jets! What this law will do is bring the playing field back up level after the decades of anti-worker laws and regulations that have been passed since the Reagan years that tilted all the power and influence to the corporations. Its about time!!!
What playing field will be leveled ? Ahhh, the playing field that doesn't have any fucking jobs, sooper ......
somewhere in the middle??? okie dokie smokie........unions are not evil ...people need to get past this jimmy hoffa mentality and realize this. Just because we blue collar working folk want decent pay.....more than the measley 7.30 an hour minimum wage we have in Ohio and want decent health care that we can afford and to not be fucked in the ass by greedy ceo's who wont give up 1 of their 5 houses or 16 bentleys...its not a bad thing at all
Blah! Blah! Blah! The fact of the matter is that when the unions were at their zenith jobs were not in short supply. By, the Reagan years, they had declined due to a number of factors, not the least of which was leadership apathy and public animosity. Then, through a series of legislative changes and bureaucratic rule interpretations the unions began a precipitous decline to where we now see the unions comprising less than 10% of the private work force. All that this law will do is allow workers to choose unions without the systematic intimidation and retaliation that employers engage in when they fight a unionization campaign. If you really believe that if unions are allowed this kind of election regulation jobs will be lost as a direct result, kindly enlighten us with some kind of real evidence. And, Im not talking about some corporate propaganda piece.
