Why a stressful day?

Oh...I thought you realized!

Believe it or not, there are folks who want to see the United States become just another Left-wing socialist European nation.

Today, we'll find out how many.

Get it now?

"President Obama announces every day, and his presidency could be reduced to this announcement and its results, that the West is finished: with capitalism, with Democracy, with self defense, and that anyone who wants it can have it."
David Mamet.

Gawd that sucked. If you listen long enough your head would fall off.

Why is this in History? Today is not stressful, Obama Biden win and America moves a bit forward. Just a bit. History is long death too soon. Enjoy the moment it's all you have.....

While this is often associated with weddings this is much better than that screechy OP tune.

Everyone hates opera, except for a few demented folk.

The best movie about the opera?

Diva is a 1981 film directed by Jean-Jacques Beineix, adapted from the novel Diva by Daniel Odier (under the pseudonym Delacorta). It is one of the first French films to let go of the realist mood of 1970s French cinema and return to a colourful, melodic style, later described as cinema du look. The film made a successful debut in France in 1981 with 2,281,569 admissions, and had success in the US the next year grossing $2,678,103.[2] The film became a cult classic and was internationally acclaimed.
Highlights of the soundtrack include the aria Ebben? Ne andrò lontana from Alfredo Catalani's opera La Wally, and a pastiche of Erik Satie's Gnossiennes composed by Vladimir Cosma.

PC, weren't you going to help me select a new avatar? Do you know of any better Obama family pictures? Please don't take the loss too hard, life goes on and four years from now you could maybe possibly select a winner.

Fight the Good Fight - the good guy won.

We'll keep fighting. Even though the good guys haven't won in a long, long time.

So the majority of Americans are bad guys? Sour grapes don't look good on you.

The majority of Americans are ignorant. Those who aren't, and persist in pushing us down the road to fascism are the "bad guys".

That said, it's probably worth discussing the core conceit of the majoritarian - the conviction that might makes right. Obviously, you find the notion that the majority could be wrong unthinkable - or at least worthy of ridicule. Why is that?

When you think in binaries, and the good guys haven't won in while, the conclusion is simple. Might doesn't make right nor do majorities and we are miles and miles from fascism in spite of corporate power today. Who are these good guys who lost?
