"VII. Engage in no business with the Government, either directly or indirectly, which is inconsistent with the conscientious performance of governmental duties.

"VIII. Never use any information gained confidentially in the performance of governmental duties as a means of making a private profit.

"IX. Expose corruption wherever discovered.

by these ethical standards, all such information including about the dealings
should be used for national security or used for public but not private or political benefit.

I'd say both the setting up, collecting and even REPORTING on such information and sources
cannot be abused for either political or financial profit.

It should be used for resolving grievances and restoring public integrity and security,
not for gain by any party's interest over any other or that's an unethical violation.

There is an obvious error in your OP. JFK didn’t use the intell community to back channel the USSR. He did it covertly because he couldn’t trust the intell community.

Oh puh leaze. JFK didn't use Russian equipment relayed through the Russian embassy. JFK went though the State Department just like Jarrod and Trump should, but for some reason no one will talk about, they don't want to. Why would Trump and his cohorts keeps secret their meetings with Russia. If anyone else did that, what would be the reasoning.
