The question you should be asking, Billo is not what Democrats need to do to get back into "liberal graces" but what do they need to do to get back in graces of blue collar workers in the Rust Belt! Let's be honest here...for whatever reason...Hillary Clinton lost this election because she lost a whole bunch of blue collar voters in areas of the country that Democrats have considered a "lock" for the better part of fifty years.

All of Trump's appointments are top-shelf. DeVos (who you whine about the most) has a college degree, is a life-long businesswoman, and an entrepreneur. She was Republican National Committeewoman for Michigan from 1992 to 1997 and served as chairwoman of the Michigan Republican Party from 1996 to 2000, with reelection to the post in 2003. DeVos has been an advocate of the Detroit charter school system and she is a member of the board of the Foundation for Excellence in Education. She has served as chairwoman of the board of Alliance for School Choice and Acton Institute and heads the All Children Matter PAC. She accomplished more by age 30 than you will your entire life.

And oh yeah - her brother Erik Prince is a former U.S. Navy Seal officer. That tells you about the pedigree of that family. They are high achievers and strive for excellence. What a shame that Obama couldn't appoint even a single person like that.

So the House bills that would have created jobs that sat on Harry Reid's desk over at the Senate never existed? Sorry, Billo but blue collar workers in the Rust Belt knew better. The Obama Stimulus didn't target them...it protected government workers in the public sector. If you call not wanting to vote for a watered down version of the same stimulus plan that didn't create jobs the first time around as "jobs bills" then you'll have to include a large number of Democrats in the list of people who wouldn't vote for a "do over".
