Proof of how much of a death grip the Left has on the media is the barrage of tales we are absorbing today, on the bogus tale of unequal pay between men and women.

The tale is based on politics, not economics:
Single women….one of the few groups, beside illegal aliens, whose vote Democrats can count on.
So....The Democrats and their troops must pretend and pander to get that vote....

"U.S. women earn 80% of men's pay on average.

What is Equal Pay Day?
It represents how far into the year women must work in order to earn what men earned the year before. It usually falls on a Tuesday, to show how far into the next work week women must work to match the pay earned by men, says the National Committee on Pay Equity.

How did it start?
The NCPE says the event started in 1996 "as a public awareness event to illustrate the gap between men's and women's wages." The goal is not only to seek legislation to narrow the pay gap between men and women, but also for people of color."
Why #EqualPayDay matters, and what it says about women at work

Bogus.

The whole fabrication is based not on economics, but on politics: Single women….one of the few groups, beside illegal aliens, whose vote Democrats can count on.
So, Democrats their lap dogs must pander and pretend that they are out to solve a legitimate grievance.

Of course there is no such gap: logic alone proves it.
If men earned 20% more for the same work and the same level of experience as women.....every employer would fire all the men, hire only women, and increase profits by a cool 20%

In short.....every word out of Democrats and Liberals is a lie.

The Equal Pay Act of 1963

SEC. 206. [Section 6]

(d) Prohibition of sex discrimination

(1) No employer having employees subject to any provisions of this section shall discriminate, within any establishment in which such employees are employed, between employees on the basis of sex by paying wages to employees in such establishment at a rate less than the rate at which he pays wages to employees of the opposite sex in such establishment for equal work on jobs the performance of which requires equal skill, effort, and responsibility, and which are performed under similar working conditions, except where such payment is made pursuant to (i) a seniority system; (ii) a merit system; (iii) a system which measures earnings by quantity or quality of production; or (iv) a differential based on any other factor other than sex: Provided, That an employer who is paying a wage rate differential in violation of this subsection shall not, in order to comply with the provisions of this subsection, reduce the wage rate of any employee.

"Employees advocating for an end to the gender wage gap are wearing red in honor of Equal Pay Day on Tuesday, April 10. For supporters, red symbolizes how women are “in the red with their salaries, compared to men’s,” according to Michele Leber, the chair of the National Committee on Pay Equity, which organizes Equal Pay Day each year.

....supporters of closing the gender wage gap encouraged employees to wear red on Equal Pay Day."
People Are Wearing Red for Equal Pay Day. Here's Why

Problem is, there is no pay gap, as equal pay for equal jobs has been the law for over 50 years.

You made no argument or produced any evidence that women are paid for the equal work and experience what men are getting paid?

You've only given an opinion.

And supplying a link that says it's been the law since 1963....as if just because a law is on the books, it is being followed, when there is no team of people going out and making certain the law is being followed in all aspects of the work force.

so, bottom line is, where is your statistical proof that women overall, in the equal positions of men, with equal experience, are being paid the same as men....?

You should be able to produce such evidence....and not just an opinion coming from nowhere...

No, you liar....I obliterated the claim.

And,.....provided the law itself, from 1963.

Clean off those specs, old timer.

Time lost all objectivity years ago.

As did the entire category called 'journalists.'

As indicated in this thread, there is no journalism….just DNC press releases.
State journalism is not journalism….it is propaganda….as when journalists sent their articles to the Democrats for final edit before they print them, or the coordinating questions for a debate.

The commitment of the press that entitled them to be mentioned in the first amendment has been abrogated.

While simply a pipe dream,, the only hope for America is the outlawing of the Democrat Party and the severing of its tentacles.

"Innumerable studies, going back for decades, have shown that women do not average as many hours of work per year as men, do not have as many consecutive years of full-time employment as men, do not work in the same mix of occupations as men and do not specialize in the same mix of subjects in college as men.

Back in 1996, a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine showed that young male physicians earned 41 percent higher incomes than young female physicians. But the same study showed that young male physicians worked over 500 hours a year more than young female physicians.

When the study took into account differences in hours of work, in the fields in which male and female doctors specialized and other differences in their job characteristics, "no earnings difference was evident." In other words, when you compare apples to apples, you don't get the "gender gap" in pay that you get when you compare apples to oranges.

This is not peculiar to the medical profession. Nor was this a new revelation, even back in 1996. Many studies done by many scholars over the years -- including female scholars -- show the same thing, again and again."
The Honesty Gap | RealClearPolitics

Ending the existence of the Democrat Party would go a long way toward reinstituting rectitude, justice, and honesty into our society.

There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.
Attributed to Benjamin Disraeli by Mark Twain.

And one of those 'damn lies' is overused by the Democrats in order to win the single woman vote.

"It probably doesn’t come as news that airline companies pay pilots more than cabin crew—but according to the dogma of the gender wage gap, we’re supposed to find this fact troubling. The British government now requires companies to report their raw gender gap—that is, the difference in the median hourly wages earned by their male and female employees. Ignoring occupational differences, seniority, employment history, hours worked, or any of the countless other factors affecting salaries, these data are misleading at best.

And that’s the whole point of the exercise: simplify statistics to shock people at the seeming injustice done to women and shame companies into action; refuse to compare similar job functions; ignore the fact that, like every other airline, EasyJet’s pilots are disproportionately male, while their cabin crews skew female; forget that almost all carriers compete for the same 4 percent of the world’s female pilots; and whatever you do, don’t mention that the EasyJet CEO, who was in charge of this bigoted organization and also its highest-paid employee until retiring earlier this year, was a woman. The company should be branded with a scarlet “51 percent” until it . . . does what? Cuts pilots’ pay? Hikes the salaries of female cabin crew? Hires male attendants instead of female? Goes bankrupt?"
KAY S. HYMOWITZ Equal Pay Myths

A strong argument can be made that one must be both slow-witted, and a government school grad, to find the 'unequal pay' lie acceptable.

"It's Time That We End the Equal Pay Myth
The Department of Labor’s Time Use Survey, for example, finds that the average full-time working man spends 8.14 hours a day on the job, compared to 7.75 hours for the full-time working woman. Employees who work more likely earn more. Men working five percent longer than women alone explains about one-quarter of the wage gap.

There are numerous other factors that affect pay. Most fundamentally, men and women tend to gravitate toward different industries. Feminists may charge that women are socialized into lower-paying sectors of the economy. But women considering the decisions they’ve made likely have a different view. Women tend to seek jobs with regular hours, more comfortable conditions, little travel, and greater personal fulfillment. Often times, women are willing to trade higher pay for jobs with other characteristics that they find attractive.

Men, in contrast, often take jobs with less desirable characteristics in pursuit of higher pay. They work long hours and overnight shifts. They tar roofs in the sun, drive trucks across the country, toil in sewer systems, stand watch as prison guards, and risk injury on fishing boats, in coal mines, and in production plants. Such jobs pay more than others because otherwise no one would want to do them.

Academics can debate why men and women make these different choices. The important takeaway, however, is that there are many reasons that men and women on average earn different amounts. It’s a mistake to assume that “wage gap” statistics reflect on-the-job discrimination. "

You want the left to acknowledge their BS about equal pay?

Just point out Hillary paid her female staff less and suddenly they start ranting about the measurement used is not valid even though it is the same measurement method they used.

No....I don't want them to acknowledge it.....

....I just what to use it to prove what lying low-lives they are.

As Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis said, sunlight is the best disinfectant. (Although, in the case of Democrats/Liberals, I would add that actual disinfectant might not be a bad idea either.)
