The Debt-Ceiling Is Fast Approaching Yet Obama Is Doing Nothing

We were told last month that if we hit the Debt-Ceiling, which we have, the economy will completely fall apart. Well it hasn't.

Does anyone here see any urgency on Obama's part, or anyone for that matter? So much time and money is going into witch-hunts against political enemies like Sarah Palin and Chris Christie. They feel it's more important to go through 24,000 emails then it is to do something about the debt.

Obama left the so-called negotiations to VP Joe Biden. Well, when are they going to start negotiating? August is the deadline. Obama's economic team is leaving like rats on a sinking ship going back to their teaching jobs. Obama is conducting himself like everything is fine and it's really not his problem. No surprise here.

We're still in Iraq. We are in full combat mode in Afghanistan. We're dropping billions of dollars of bombs on Libya. We're sending drones into Pakistan. And now we've discovered that Obama is conducting a secret war in Yemen. How does he expect to pay for all of this if he doesn't do something about the debt??

The GOP must not raise the Debt-Ceiling because it will allow the Dems to lie that they contributed to increasing the debt. We see nothing but political gamesmanship from these people and the military is teetering on the edge of mission-failure.

I was at a garrison briefing last week and the commanding general said things are tight and we haven't quite reached that point, but we are quickly approaching it.

Who do you think Obama will blame when we do reach that point?

You can bet he won't take the blame himself. He's too busy out there campaigning to do his job.

You are so right; Obama should declare himself King, have all of Congress and the Supreme Court arrested for treason, and run the show himself. Then he can raise the debt ceiling as high or low as he chooses and won't need the approval of Congress. The more I read stupid shit on here from the right, the further it pushes me to the left.

This is what has always infuriated me about this administration, the complete lack of leadership or concise policy. What is the administration going to do about the debt ceiling? Nothing. They are going to let time wind down, eventually turning to fear-mongering like we saw leading up to the passage of stimulus. The left used to bemoan Bush for using fear to ensure his agenda, now they are mute when this administration attempts to exploit every supposed crisis out there.

They will do nothing. Then they will say that the world is literally going to come to an end if we don't grant the government the ability to become more indebted. The media will cover the story using the administration's premise. The Republican leadership will capitulate, the majority feigning their support from the beginning. The only way to prevent this is for the rise of a true conservative leader.

In this country, we have 3 equal branches. The Republicans have been the party of no, notoriously, for years now. Let them step up and bring something substantial to the table. Something better than their crush medicare scheme.

The debt ceiling needs to be raised to accomodate their idiotic budget so let them be accountable. Obama wasn't afraid to dig in there and work on the budget, Repubs were though. They're afraid they'll lose their fragile grip on the House.
