News strikes today that Harvard law Professor Elizabeth Warren will, indeed, will be tapped to help set up the newly authorized Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

She' THE BEST PERSON for the job (of CFPB-oversight).....unless, of course, you're paranoid o' Oklahoma-braniacs!!

Folksy Warren is janitor's daughter, Wall St foe

"Warren, 61, who wrote in a blog on Friday of her grandmother "pulling up her socks and getting to work," comes from a family that saw financial hardship during the Dust Bowl and Great Depression of the 1930s. Warren, whose father worked as a janitor, entered college at 16 on a debating scholarship."
.....And, "Crazy" Sarah got her start as a pageant-contestant.

"Federal banking regulators have ordered Capital One Bank to refund $150 million to about 2 million customers for deceptive marketing of payment protection and other add-on products sold with its credit cards.

Capital One also must pay $60 million in civil penalties for the practices. The refunds and fines, which the bank has agreed to pay under consent orders, were announced Wednesday by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

“We are putting companies on notice that these deceptive practices are against the law and will not be tolerated," Richard Cordray, director of the consumer bureau, said of the agency's first major enforcement action since starting operations a year ago."

It will take a while but we'll clean up the mess these asswipe demonRats are making. Yes WE WILL.

"Warren begins her tale in the spring of 2007, before the housing crash and the financial crisis. She was on a plane back to Boston after a series of discouraging meetings with credit- card company executives. She had tried to sell them on an idea called the “clean card” that grew out of her academic work and her side gig as a guest on such shows as Dr. Phil, where she dispensed empathy and advice to audience members who were one bad check away from losing everything.

The concept was simple: Offer the equivalent of a Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval to any credit-card company that disclosed all of its costs and fees up front, no fine print."

"The CFPB action could have a collateral benefit for the godmother of the agency, Elizabeth Warren, who is now running for the U.S. Senate in Massachusetts. Warren is credited with laying the intellectual foundation for the CFPB, fought to include it as part of Wall Street reform legislation, and was named by President Barack Obama to staff and set up the bureau.

The enforcement action now raises the CFPB's profile, thereby reminding voters in Massachusetts about Warren's consumer-friendly background, which she regularly contrasts with that of her opponent, incumbent Republican Sen. Scott Brown, whose support on Wall Street runs deep. Brown even has a separate political action committee geared primarily toward raising cash from bankers."

Its pretty scary she is a known liar hmmm they all have that in common amongst Marxists. Like I said its a Communist coup hopefully they wake up.

maybe if conservatarians weren't holding up every.fucking.appointment we could start to address the problems the bill addresses. 3 Fed bank positions empty, leaving the Fed with fewer minds at the table and having to invoke emergency powers to operate? Republicans. Leaving the most important new regulatory agency in a decade without leadership and therefore unable to begin protecting consumers? Republicans.

Hampering recovery? Republicans. if it's bad for America, it's good for Republicans at the moment. And they know this.

The Senate holds confirmation hearings.

The Democrats control the Senate.

There is no excuse for this.

You're correct.

There should have been a straight up and down vote.

Instead..there was a filibuster.
