The constitution says there should be NO federal restrictions on guns

Read the supremacy clause esp the words "made in pursuance thereof". That gives the states the right to nullify federal laws.

When is the last time a state nullified a federal law and passed constitutional scrutiny?

What do you mean by constitutional scrutiny? Do you mean the Supreme Court allows it? The constitution gives the SC no such authority and that means by the tenth amendment they don't have it. If a state nullifies a federal law, that is the end of it. I realize that's not how we do things but that's how the constitution says it's supposed to be.

Obama is scared too death the gun control issue will empower the states and weaken the feds. And he knows the constitution is on the side of the states rights crowd.
