Packerland!
Some of us used to think that Obama considered the Constitution an obstacle. Now we see he does not.

That does seem to be what he considers constitutional training useful for -- to give him confidence in skirting the law

.... oh and to provide cover for his gullible followers: "Obama is a constitutional scholar so if he says it's okay, it must be okay".

LOL, did you have something specific in mind or is this just a general Obama bashing thread.

Precisely my thought. *Kudos*

It’s a pointless Obama bashing thread.

Lets see you twirps defend his actions.

He has no respect for THE document that he took an oath and swore to uphold.
he has openly said he wasn't going to wait for Congress, and he was pressing on with his agenda without them.

THAT is the mark of an arrogant Despot.

It's not just Obama. Over the course of the past 100+ years, both parties have hijacked the purpose of the Constitution from its original intent as Plato's Philosopher King giving authority to the substantive Rule of Law protecting individual liberty from man-made government. Today's bipartisan perception of the constitution is that of a pliable framework of arbitrary loopholes to be exploited for the purpose of systematically codifying fed gov power grabs as official law of the land. Notice the paradoxical trend of constitutional amendments as they've historically 'evolved' since inception: laws protecting individual liberty from fed gov --> laws protecting individual liberty from state gov --> laws granting fed gov power superseding state gov --> laws granting fed gov power superseding individual liberty.

Bright minds today study the Constitution with the intent and approach one would have when studying the tax code. I believe it ought instead be studied in context as the sacred text of wisdom that it actually is.
