The coming coal subsidies

What you have in this thread is rabid idealism and profound levels of naïve vs the real world!! Remember.......not one progressive in here either knows OR cares about "costs". For energy, over time, it ALWAYS comes down to..........costs s0ns!! Always has...........always will.

Breaking News! California Electricity Prices are High
February 22, 2017 by James Bushnell 1 Comment

In case you missed it, a recent investigative piece in the LA Times unearthed the shocking fact that California retail electricity prices are high, about 50% higher than the national average.

However, since the power crisis of the early 2000’s settled down, the dominant policy driver in the electricity sector has unquestionably been a focus on developing renewable sources of electricity generation. As is well known (outside of the LA Times apparently), CaIt is forcing a rapid (and early) replacement of conventional sources with renewable, but variable, generation sources such as solar and wind.

Since 2010, about 80% of new capacity has come from renewable sources and it’s likely that much of that capacity would not have been built if not for the RPS. California has one of the country’s most aggressive renewable portfolio standards (RPS). The
RPS requires each firm that sells electricity to end-users to procure an increasing fraction (33% by 2020, 50% by 2030) of the energy they sell from renewable sources.

Now..........mega-high electricity costs might work in California and New York and another place or two.........but to the rest of the country ( and like we've seen in Germany ), people heads explode when they open up their electricity bill and its 50% higher. THATS called the real world s0ns!!

Over the next few years, keep an eye on California s0ns..........100% certainty the rest of us will be bailing them out of the shitter abyss. People who vote will be taking a closer look and learning what they don't know now. The rest will be history as they say!:spinner::spinner:

This is another perfect example of what people with even half a brain know.........to the progressives, good intentions is the standard. Results don't matter. Which is why over the last few years they get their clocks cleaned in every election.

Industrial automation should produce artificial persons that do the hard work, so real Persons, don't have to.

Health and safety should focus on that sector, in my opinion; it could even extract and restore in a more cost effective manner as well.
