The Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem may be forced to close down as a result of an Israeli plot against the church.

BBC News - Church of the Holy Sepulchre in row over water bill

The Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem has warned that it may shut its doors to pilgrims in protest at a dispute with an Israeli water company.

The church, where many Christians believe Jesus was crucified, has had its bank account frozen at the request of Hagihon over an unpaid $2.3m bill.

The first thought seems to be a simple dispute over an unpaid bill. until you look closer.
First, it was taken as read, there was an agreement to provide free service to this and other holy sites.
No bills have been paid for years and there was no action against the church.
If payment was expected, a water company would normally have something to say in the first month or two, not after 15 years of unpaid bills.

The water company managed to send a bill in 2004 but never attempted to enforce it.
One has to ask why.
They did come up with a lame excuse but, given the lack of bills, hardly believable.

We then go on to find out there was an agreement reached but the water company ignored their word of honour and secured a court order to close the church's bank account.

Last, I suppose we have to know a little about the cater company. They use their name but in fact, it's the municipality of Jerusalem's fully owned company.

A dispute over water is one thing but this is obviously a Israeli plot to close a major Christian holy site.

Is Israel really a friend to Christian America?

Sorry bout that,

1. Its just a bill inflated but still just a bill, who could use 2.3 million in water in 15 years????
2. If it was 50k that would be a surprise.
3. Lets get real.
4. Its a lot of money but the Pilgrims can pay for it in a years time, the municipality is greedy it seems.
5. Its just a tax, like parking fines they think.
6. They will put a boot on your rental car in a heart beat!
