1) it gives us less reason to accumulate wealth

2) it gives us good reason to waste or spend our after tax income

3) it gives us good reason not to start businesses since that is where most private wealth is held

4) it gives us more reason for government jobs since private jobs would disappear along with the businesses

5) it would shrink the government since those with wealth pay most of the taxes

6) it teaches kids not to save and plan for the future since
what they might earn should be spent now

yes rather than tax income to prevent the formation of wealth they are in effect saying that previous taxes were too low and so now they want to go back and confiscate some of the surplus after tax income from years back!
