I knew this was coming and now I am hearing this on the news. President Carter has the worst President in history reputation and now the news media is calling it the Carterization of Obama.

I wonder how President Carter feels about being de-throned from his first place position in this category??

It's about time they realized this, I did the minute he signed the 787 billion dollar stimulus plan that felll flat on it's face the micute it left the gate. About time.:clap2::clap2

The presidential approval rating ceiling doesn’t have to be raised, but the floor might need to be lowered soon.

Yep--this country invented the misery index during the Jimmy Carter administration--I imagine it won't be long before we have the Obama misery index too.

The only person in this nation (according to polling data) that can lose a race against (no-name) is Barack Obama--

I don't even think Jimmy Carter held that title.--

I think he is worse than Carter. Carter had heart- he was and still is a "true believer". Carter's policies were wrong, he was a total failure as a President, but at least you know he cared. He still cares- in all the wrong ways! But he is clearly passionate about his beliefs. I disagree with Carter, I think he was a terrible president, but I respect the MAN because of the kind of person he is. I cannot say the same about Obama.

Obama is cold, uncaring, and dispassionate. It's as if he's only doing the job for the pension....

I never believed Carter to be a socialist--he sure didn't use the rich vs. the poor rhetoric like Obama does repeatedly.

And there is no doubt in my mind that Obama set out to do what he intended--to rebuild this nation into a European style socialist nanny state country. And getting away with spending 4.3 BILLION dollars a day does just that.

In my opinion--and I survived Jimmy Carter while in our own small business--Barack Obama and his policies have hurt this nation--much more than the Carter administration.

I thought the polls say that Bush was the worst president?
And since Obama is a thrid bush term....

Carter may have been in WAY over his head as the POTUS, but at least he was an honorable and honest man who served in the U.S. military and owned his own business.

Obama has NONE of those traits, except for being in way over his head.

2012 election | US Politics

The Misery Index (inflation plus unemployment) through March was 11.48 percent (2.68 percent, 8.8 percent). By comparison, it was 10.52 percent in 1992 when Bill Clinton handily beat George Bush. (It was nearly 21 percent in 1980 when Ronald Reagan crushed Jimmy Carter.) In fact, it has not been double digits for an entire year since Bush I’s first term. This goes along way in explaining why trust in Obama’s handling of the economy has collapsed. And a new Gallup Poll finds that Americans prefer the GOP budget approach to that of Democrats by 48 percent to 36 percent.

Also keep in mind how rising gas and food prices are eating into incomes. Real disposable income (personal income after taxes and adjusted for inflation) increased only 0.1% after being flat in February...

Carter wanted Health Care, austerity, but Teddy stopped him. His human rights campaign led to democracy in latin america and the USSR, and he wanted green energy that would have given us the lead there. His onlymistake was taking in the Shah....So he WAS a COMMUNIST!! But this was before RAYGUN, the Pub Propaganda machine, and Everything for the Rich...Pffffft!!

during Carter and into Reagan the mass population was in fear of the Japanese buying up the USA and the mood was one that Japan had finally defeated us. The decline of the auto industry to the Japanese fueled hatred to the point that Asian people were killed for being Asian.

I think there is a valid comparison to be made here.

Carter and Obama both got in because there was a lot of anger at the GOP, both riding in on waves of discontent. Both were nominated because they were seen as "outsiders".

And they both had the same weaknesses. Both had a problem is that they deferred to Congress instead of providing leadership, and Congress rolled them at every oppurtunity.

both flailed around in foreign affairs. Both had horrid economic conditions they were unable to deal with because they inspired very little confidence in the economic class.

I think, though, Obama is a lot worse. And I don't see a Reagan class guy to replace him, at the moment, although I think Perry comes about the closest.

Not really. But trust you to find a racist bogeyman hiding under the bed.

Actually, there was a fair complaint to be made. The Japanese were dumping at that time. - in short, selling products at a reduced cost to undermine our industry. Reagan called Shenannigans on that and we enjoyed an economic boom and the Japanese had to open factories in this country in order to compete.

Carter, on the other hand, simply bent over and took it. Like he took it from the Russians, the Arabs and anyone else who came along.

Here's a joke my Drill Sergeant told us in 1981.

Jimmy Carter goes to Heaven, and he meets JFK. Kennedy asks him about what happened during his presidency.

Carter replies, "Well, the Iranians overthrew the Shah and took our embassy staff hostage!"

JFK says, "Well, then you sent in the Marines, right?"

Carter looks down sheepishly and says, "Well, uh, no, they were still held hostage until the end of my presidency. And then the Russians invaded Afghanistan!"

"Right, and you sent in the Marines that time!"

"Well, uh.. no. I didn't."

JFK says in disgust, "Damn, Jimmy, next you'll be telling me you gave away the Panama Canal!"

The only people who truly view Carter as the "worst POTUS" are the neo-cons.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - A new poll suggests that George W. Bush is the most unpopular president in modern American history.

A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Thursday indicates that 71 percent of the American public disapprove of how Bush his handling his job as president.

"No president has ever had a higher disapproval rating in any CNN or Gallup poll; in fact, this is the first time that any president's disapproval rating has cracked the 70 percent mark," said CNN Polling Director Keating Holland.

Carter the worst president in history?

That's a laugh.

Carter like Ford did a lot of things that were good for the country but terrible politically. Neither man got a second term..but the country was better off because they were the right men at the right time.

So you quote a poll from May of 2008 when the main stream media was blaming W. for the economic collapse and the public was buying it as "proof" that he was the worst President ever? Amusing...

Now that we've had two and a half years of Carter Lite I'd be willing to bet that that same poll wouldn't generate even close to the same results.
